Job Description - Communications Assistant (Hybrid) (823043) Job Description Communications Assistant (Hybrid) - ( 823043 ) Description Communications Assistant (Administrative Assistant IV) (Hybrid) Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is looking for a Communications Assistant with experience working in a fast-paced, structured environment for our Communications Department within the Outreach and Employer Initiatives Division. The Communications Assistant reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and supports the department’s scheduling and administrative functions. While teleworking is allowed, much of your work will be done in our headquarters on the north lawn of the Texas State Capitol in Austin. What You’ll Do: As a Communication Assistant, you’re the one that will make sure the “train leaves on time” and everyone is on it. You’ll make multitasking look easy. No deadline will sneak past you; you will see it coming from a mile away. You’ll be relentless in your follow-through and masterful in your judgment and ability to prioritize. Highly organized is an understatement when they’ll describe you. You’ll schedule, collaborate, communicate, organize, prioritize, and occasionally buy stuff. And yes, sometimes we even get old-fashioned mail and phone calls you’ll need to answer. Minimum Qualifications: -Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of GED certification, plus three years of full-time experience that provided knowledge of administrative support functions and office practices and procedures, or clerical administration and business management practices, such as preparation, maintenance and control of forms, records and reports. -Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may be substituted for six months of experience.
