Communications Executive

We're looking for a talented and creative Communications Executive who has a real passion for writing, a natural curiosity and the ability to turn complex information into engaging, interesting content.

BCIS (Building Cost Information Service) is the UK's leading provider of construction cost and carbon data to the built environment. The role

Working as part of our Marketing team, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality content that engages our customers, supports our commercial objectives and helps build awareness of BCIS across the industry.

You'll be writing everything from thought leadership articles, industry insights and interviews to customer case studies, campaigns and PR content. A big part of the role will be working with our internal experts, taking sometimes quite complex, technical information and turning it into content that's interesting, accessible and relevant to our audiences.

You'll also work closely with colleagues across Marketing, Sales, Product and our wider business, identifying new content opportunities, supporting campaigns and helping us continually improve how we communicate.

About you

First and foremost, we're looking for a brilliant writer!

You'll ideally have experience in communications, journalism, PR or content marketing, with a proven ability to research, write and edit engaging content for different audiences.

You'll be someone who is naturally curious, enjoys asking questions and can quickly get to grips with new subjects. You'll have great attention to detail, plenty of creative ideas and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.

Experience within construction, property, the built environment, insurance or a data-led business would be advantageous, but isn't essential. We're much more interested in finding someone with fantastic writing skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to make complex subjects easy to understand.

We're a fast-paced business, so you'll need to be comfortable managing competing priorities, working to deadlines and taking ownership of your work.

We're a remote-first business and flexibility is a really important part of our culture. However, we're also a highly collaborative team, and communication is essential to making remote working successful.

We work closely together across the business, so being comfortable communicating regularly over Microsoft Teams, building relationships and getting involved is really important. We also get together face-to-face when it adds value, so occasional travel for team meetings and company events will be required.
