Mandai Nature is a successful Singapore-based non-profit conservation organisation jointly set up by Temasek and Mandai Wildlife Group (which manages zoological parks including Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Rainforest Wild and Bird Paradise). Mandai Nature is the conservation arm of Mandai Wildlife Group and was established with the aim of advancing efforts on biodiversity protection in Singapore and Asia. Through impactful programmes and innovative partnerships Mandai Nature strives to protect nature and inspire action.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Content Development and Storytelling

  • Develop compelling content that showcases Mandai Nature’s conservation programmes, partnerships, research and community initiatives.

  • Identify and develop storytelling opportunities by working closely with programme teams and partners.

  • Lead the development of annual impact report, newsletters, website content, event materials and other communications assets.

  • Support fundraising and outreach efforts through the development of external-facing materials, including case for support documents, event collaterals and campaign communications.

  • Maintain an editorial calendar and coordinate content contribution from across the organisation.

2. Social Media Management

  • Manage Mandai Nature’s social media platforms and content calendar.

  • Create, schedule and publish engaging social media content.

  • Develop content that highlights programme impact, project updates, partnerships, team members and conservation milestones.

  • Monitor and analyse social media performance and recommend improvements to increase engagement and reach.

  • Keep abreast of emerging social media trends and identify opportunities to enhance digital engagement.

3. Internal Communications and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Mandai Wildlife Group teams (Life Sciences, Education, Communications, Brand and Partnerships Development) and Mandai Nature team to support internal communications initiatives to increase awareness of Mandai Nature’s work across Mandai Wildlife Group.

  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to source content, gather project updates, and identify communications opportunities.

  • Manage communications requests and coordinate the development of supporting materials.

  • Review presentations, reports, publications and other communications materials to ensure factual accuracy and consistency with Mandai Nature’s messaging and brand standards.

  • Develop and maintain templates, guidelines, and communications resources for internal teams

  • Provide editorial support and communications advice to colleagues when required.

4. Media Relations and Publicity

  • Support media outreach efforts by identifying story opportunities and preparing media materials.

  • Draft press releases, media pitches, fact sheets and briefing materials.

  • Coordinate media interviews, filming opportunities, and media visits.

  • Maintain media contact lists and support relationship-building with journalists and media outlets.

5. Brand and Visual Communications

  • Ensure all communication materials adhere to Mandai Nature’s brand guidelines and visual identity.

  • Work closely with designers, photographers, videographers, and external agencies to develop high-quality communication assets.

  • Provide guidance on visual presentation of communication materials to maximise audience engagement.

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure communication materials are accurate, consistent and on brand.

6. Events and Outreach Communications

  • Lead communications support for fundraising donor events, outreach events, exhibitions and public engagement initiatives including the Festival of Biodiversity.

  • Develop creative content and messaging that drives audience engagement and participation.

  • Manage event communication materials, signage, digital content, and post-event storytelling.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, content marketing, or a related field, preferably in the non-profit, conservation or environmental sector.

  • Experience managing social media channels and creating digital content.

  • Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing projects simultaneously.

  • Experience working with creative agencies, designers, photographers, and video production vendor is an advantage.

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Strong visual communication skills with an eye for design, branding and audience engagement.

  • Strong storytelling skills and the ability to translate complex topics into engaging content.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and editorial judgment.

  • Creative, proactive and highly organised.

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine interest in wildlife conservation, environmental sustainability and philanthropy is highly desirable.
