Community Engagement Coordinator (Member Enablement)

CI-ISAC Australia

Is this job info correct?

Job status: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract

Reports to: Head of Growth (acting: Chief Executive Officer)

Location: Remote (AU); east coast preferred

Travel: Limited

Salary: up to $100k + super depending on experience

NOTE: A cover letter is required; applications without one will not be assessed. Combine your cover letter and CV into a single document. Australian residents only.

About CI-ISAC

CI-ISAC Australia is a not-for-profit, member-driven organisation, and the only cyber threat intelligence sharing community focused on the owners and operators of Australia’s critical infrastructure. We help members across sectors like finance, health, government, energy and telecommunications anticipate, mitigate and respond to cyber threats through trusted, peer-to-peer intelligence sharing. Members consistently tell us our intelligence is the best they receive.

About the Role

This is the role that turns membership into evidence.

Our members include some of the most significant critical infrastructure entities in the country. What we need now is the ability to say precisely what that membership is worth: which member acted on which advisory, what it saved them, who will say so publicly, and who will introduce us to their peers. Proof from a peer in the same sector carries weight that nothing we say about ourselves ever will.

You will be the growth team’s member-facing voice, running a review cadence across the membership to draw out value realised, proof points, reference members and warm referrals, and returning those into the growth funnel. You will also play a central part in our proof-of-value experience, which becomes our primary trial route for new members from early 2027.

Our Business Operations Manager owns the member engagement journey and its assurance, and her team runs our membership inbox and routes member queries. You are a key contributor to that journey rather than its owner. You will also provide surge support to our Growth Enablement Coordinator during peak activity periods, so organisation matters as much as relationship skill.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of converting to a permanent position at the end of the term, subject to Board approval and funding.

What You’ll Do

Drive proof-of-value conversion. From early 2027 the 45-day proof of value is our primary route to new membership, and your management of that experience is a direct driver of our conversion rate. Run the trial journey against a defined playbook: check-ins keyed to gates, the participant activated and connected to the intelligence that matters to them, and procurement started during the trial rather than after it.

Run the member review cadence. Run quarterly reviews across the membership to confirm value being realised, capture what is not working, and ask for referrals. Getting the membership into a reliable quarterly rhythm is a substantial volume of work and it is the engine behind everything else here. Our growth team currently runs activation calls, baselining maturity so members start in the right place; you will work with them on this and may take it on over time.

Elicit and evidence member value. Draw out specific, usable evidence of what membership delivers: actions taken off the back of our intelligence, case studies, anonymised proof points at each level of maturity, testimonials, and a base of members willing to act as references. Contribute the narrative layer to the member value reports Business Operations produces. Work with our marketing lead to get this material published, feeding it into campaigns, sector and maturity one-pagers, the quarterly threat report and the annual report, so proof from a real member is what a prospect encounters before we ever speak to them.

Generate referrals and return them to the funnel. Warm referrals from engaged members are our strongest source of new membership, and they come from asking at the right moment. Weave the ask into our Quarterly Review cadence, feeding warm referrals into the growth funnel.

Design the engagement model as we scale. Our approach needs to be tiered as the membership grows: a person-to-person cadence for larger and strategically significant members, and a structured digital cadence for the rest. Designing that model and designing the engagement layer is part of the role.

Track engagement and route feedback. Maintain a live picture of engagement against defined healthy-member behaviours, working with insights from Business Operations so a member drifting is picked up early. Where a conversation surfaces something that needs resolving, understand what is being said, relate it to what we actually do, and get it to the intelligence, technology or growth team who owns it.

Support renewals. Renewals sit with Business Operations. You will drive the Value Insights from your reviews and provide it, and be involved directly where a renewal needs it.

Provide surge support across Growth. Step in alongside our Growth Enablement Coordinator when volume demands it: event and conference follow-up, campaign execution, and sequences that need to happen inside a window.

How Success Is Measured

  • Feedback coverage. The proportion of the membership with a completed, recorded review in the period.
  • Proof-of-value conversion. The rate at which trial participants convert to paying membership.
  • Proof points captured. The volume and quality of usable value evidence, case studies and reference members captured.
  • Referrals. Warm referrals generated and handed into the growth funnel.
  • Contribution to renewal outcomes. Renewal rate and churn are owned by Business Operations, though engagement quality is a significant input. You will be assessed on your contribution rather than held solely accountable for the number.

  • What We’re Looking For

    Essential

    • Exceptional organisation. You will run a review cadence across the whole membership, manage the proof-of-value journey, and absorb surge work from elsewhere in Growth.
    • Strong stakeholder management, with a track record of holding senior relationships and being the person a stakeholder is willing to be candid with.
    • Either genuine cyber or threat-intelligence fluency, or a demonstrated ability to pick up technical subject matter quickly and hold a credible conversation in it. If it is the latter, tell us where you have done it before. You will need real fluency and the discipline to check what you’re unsure of rather than bluff it.
    • The confidence to ask a senior stakeholder directly whether they are getting value, and to hear an uncomfortable answer without becoming defensive.
    • The ability to turn a conversation into usable evidence. Hearing that a member found something useful is not the same as being able to show what it was worth.
    • Judgement about where to spend your time across a membership of varying size, maturity and strategic significance.
    • Comfort working from a CRM: tracking engagement against defined measures, seeing a pattern and acting on it. Clear, concise written English for case studies, member communications and value narrative.
    • Self-direction, and discretion with member information and sensitive threat material. Members share with us on the basis that we handle it properly.
    • Based in Australia with full working rights.

    Highly regarded

    • Experience selling into, or working within, cyber security, threat intelligence, GRC, or a security-adjacent vendor, consultancy or industry body.
    • Experience within a critical infrastructure organisation, or a government or public sector background.
    • Experience in a not-for-profit, membership body, industry association, or other trust-led organisation.
    • Experience running a trial-to-conversion motion, a member or customer success function, or a segmented engagement model including digital engagement at scale.
    • Formal training in stakeholder or community engagement, and familiarity with CRMs such as Zoho, Salesforce or HubSpot.

Security clearance: Not required, but you will need to be willing to undergo a right to work and police check.

    Your Application

A cover letter is required; applications without one will not be assessed. Combine your cover letter and CV into a single document. In your cover letter, tell us:

    • About a relationship you built into something valuable: who the stakeholder was, how you earned their trust, and what came of it. We are more interested in this than in the size of the portfolio you managed.
    • If you are not from a cyber background, where you have come into a technical domain cold and become credible in it.
    • Why CI-ISAC, and what draws you to a role built around a community rather than a customer base.

We read every cover letter. Take the time on it.

No agencies, recruiters or unsolicited approaches will be considered. Direct applicants only via LinkedIn — please don’t email us directly.
