Company Accountant

Location: Wicklow (Hybrid, 4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)

Overview

We're currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a business based in Wicklow, for a Company Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is a standalone, hands-on role covering the full day-to-day accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise customer invoices and monthly account statements
• Maintain financial records in Xero (essential)
• Manage the full Accounts Receivable cycle, including collections, queries, and reconciliation
• Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle, including supplier invoices, payment runs, and queries
• Perform bank reconciliations across all accounts
• Prepare and file statutory returns, including VAT and PRSI, on time
• Monitor cash flow and update short-term forecasts
• Track revenue against monthly targets and explain variances
• Prepare monthly management accounts for the leadership team
• Support quarterly and half-yearly financial reporting
• Monitor costs and pricing trends, flagging risks to gross margin
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
• Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external accountants/auditors as required

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong Xero experience (essential)
• Part-qualified accountant minimum (working towards or holding ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Proven experience managing both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable independently
• Working knowledge of bank reconciliation, VAT, and PRSI
• Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of cost of goods and gross margin
• Able to work independently and own the finance function
• Comfortable managing a varied workload and competing deadlines
• Based in or commutable to Wicklow, onsite four days a week
