About the Role
Laya Healthcare is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Associate to join our Compliance team based in our Cork office, Little Island, on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional to broaden their experience within a dynamic and regulated environment while contributing to the continued development of Laya Healthcare's compliance framework. You will work closely with colleagues across the business, providing compliance guidance, supporting key compliance initiatives, monitoring regulatory developments, and helping ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including those of the Central Bank of Ireland, the Health Insurance Authority (HIA), and Data Protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and support to the business on Central Bank, Data Protection and Health Insurance Authority (HIA) compliance requirements
- Analyse new and emerging regulations and assess their impact on business operations
- Support the development of reporting processes and system enhancements to strengthen the control environment
- Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to implement key compliance initiatives and controls
- Maintain and update the Compliance Framework to reflect emerging legislation, revised controls and new business processes
- Conduct second-line compliance monitoring activities in line with the annual compliance plan
- Prepare monthly compliance reporting for Senior Management and quarterly reporting for the Audit & Risk Committee and Board
- Support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance activities, including training coordination and policy maintenance
- Undertake horizon scanning to identify emerging legislation, regulatory developments and industry impacts
- Act as a key point of contact for compliance-related matters across the organisation
- Support ad hoc compliance projects and initiatives as required
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in Risk, Compliance, Audit or a related discipline within the Financial Services industry
- Ideally 2-3 years' experience in a Compliance, Risk or Audit role
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements within the insurance or financial services sector
- Working knowledge of Central Bank of Ireland regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of Health Insurance products and relevant industry legislation would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong influencing and relationship-building skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Recognised Compliance, Risk, Audit or Accounting qualification such as ACOI, IMI, ACA, ACCA or CPA (required)
- Relevant professional qualifications in Compliance, Risk Management or Audit are highly desirable
