Construction Engineer

Role Description The Construction Engineer at PG Construction SA will support remote project planning, design review, and technical oversight for civil and construction works in a part-time capacity. The role involves interpreting and reviewing construction drawings, preparing technical documentation, and advising project teams on engineering standards and best practices. The Construction Engineer will coordinate with on-site personnel to plan and monitor the use of heavy equipment, assess constructability, and help resolve technical issues that arise during project execution. Day-to-day tasks include participating in virtual project meetings, performing remote inspections and quality checks based on site reports and digital evidence, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and company requirements. The role also includes providing clear technical guidance, updating project records, and contributing to continuous improvement of construction processes.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world construction projects.
• Ability to read, interpret, and review Construction Drawings and related technical documentation to support design accuracy and constructability.
• Experience with Heavy Equipment planning and utilization, including understanding equipment capabilities, safety considerations, and site logistics.
• Knowledge of Inspection practices and quality control methods for civil and construction works, including remote review of site data and reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards in construction and civil engineering.
• Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., CAD tools), project documentation tools, and digital collaboration platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams; prior experience in construction or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
