Construction Project Scheduler 3 – Airports & Infrastructure

Location: Hybrid office locations include Hebron, KY / Cincinnati, OH and Mt. Juliet / Nashville, TN. (T/W/TH in-office)
Salary Range: Starting at $90,000+. Bonus opportunities.

Build the schedules that keep airports running

Join a team delivering complex, high-impact airport, energy, and infrastructure projects across the country, where your schedule analysis directly shapes how multi-million-dollar programs get sequenced and delivered.

Company Overview

Connico is a leading national construction consultancy known for its extraordinary team and commitment to superior client service. Founded in 1990, we offer highly specialized consulting services unique to the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. As experts in aviation and transportation, we assist owners, architects, engineers, and planners with cost estimating, scheduling, planning, and project management.

The Opportunity

As a Scheduler 3, you take increasing ownership of developing and analyzing construction schedules for large-scale infrastructure projects, primarily airports. You will build work breakdown structures, develop and evaluate schedule logic, analyze phasing and performance, communicate findings directly to internal teams and clients, and support the development of analysts coming up behind you.

This role is ideal for someone who already has meaningful construction scheduling experience and understands how work is actually built. You may have developed that experience as a professional scheduler or through a field-based role where you were directly responsible for planning, sequencing, phasing, and managing construction work.

We're looking for someone who can do more than update an existing schedule - someone who understands why activities are sequenced the way they are, can spot a construction or logic issue before it becomes a delay, and can explain what the schedule is actually telling the project team.

What You'll Do

Schedule development and execution

  • Build detailed construction schedules using project scope, design documents, client requirements, construction methodology, site conditions, and project milestones.
  • Independently create and manipulate work breakdown structures to meet internal, project, and client-specific needs.
  • Develop activity durations, sequencing logic, relationships, milestones, constraints, and schedule assumptions.
  • Assign baselines, analyze progress and variances, and identify changes to critical path and float.
  • Develop production rates using project quantities, historical information, available resources, and construction knowledge.
  • Support schedules across planning, design, preconstruction, construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Contribute to resource- and cost-loading, schedule risk analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and risk matrices alongside senior team members.
Analysis and plan review
  • Review architectural, engineering, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications to identify sequencing needs, scheduling impacts, and conflicts.
  • Identify constructability, logistics, procurement, phasing, trade coordination, and design issues that could affect the schedule.
  • Flag gaps, inconsistencies, unrealistic durations, logic issues, and phasing challenges - proposing potential solutions rather than simply raising the issue.
  • Develop schedule assumptions, milestone summaries, sequencing notes, and value engineering ideas for client-facing deliverables.
  • Participate in site visits to validate assumptions and compare schedule information to actual field conditions.
  • Prepare visual schedule outputs and QA reports using P6 exports, Excel, Power BI, and Connico formatting standards.
Collaboration and client engagement
  • Communicate schedule assumptions, progress, risks, and changes clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in schedule development, review, update, and reconciliation meetings.
  • Work with designers, contractors, field personnel, estimators, and other disciplines to develop realistic project schedules.
  • Support the development of Analyst 1s and 2s by reviewing their scheduling methods, logic, activity lists, and outputs.
  • Contribute to internal templates, training materials, sequencing checklists, and quality reviews.

What You Bring
Required
  • 2-4+ years of progressive construction experience that includes meaningful responsibility for construction scheduling, planning, sequencing, phasing, or schedule development.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, quantity surveying, architecture, engineering, or a related field - or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, or materially contributing to construction schedules - not solely entering progress into schedules created by others.
  • Meaningful exposure to active construction projects and a working understanding of construction means and methods, trade interfaces, phasing, logistics, procurement, and field execution.
  • Experience developing WBS structures, schedule logic, activity durations, baselines, progress updates, variance analyses, phasing plans, or similar scheduling deliverables.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications with limited oversight.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Some travel required: 10-25% (site visits, client meetings, conferences)
Preferred
  • Professional experience using Primavera P6.
  • Candidates with substantial construction scheduling and planning experience using another platform may also be considered if they demonstrate the ability to become proficient in P6.
  • Experience creating initial, baseline, preconstruction, pursuit, or phasing schedules.
  • Experience performing or contributing to Time Impact Analysis, schedule recovery, or cost and schedule risk assessments.
  • Certification such as PMI-SP, PSP, PMP, AACE CCT, CCM, PE, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC), Power BI, and Adobe Acrobat.

Sector experience that stands out

Any of the following is a meaningful plus:
  • Aviation
  • Energy: commercial nuclear power generation, green and renewable power generation, power distribution, and power transmission including high voltage
  • Heavy civil and infrastructure
  • Data centers and data infrastructure
  • Government and military scheduling
  • Utilities, transportation, roadway, bridge, or water/wastewater construction

Why Join Connico
  • Opportunity to work on complex, high-visibility projects
  • Opportunity to grow from schedule execution into greater technical ownership and client responsibility
  • Strong culture of collaboration, respect, and technical excellence
  • A clearly defined career path and development support
