Consultant – Power System Studies Contribute to a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects across power generation, transmission planning, network development and grid connections. The rapid integration of renewable generation, battery energy storage, inverter-based resources, emerging technologies and major new loads is changing how power systems are planned, modelled, connected and operated. As a Consultant – Power System Studies, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects across power generation, transmission planning, network development and grid connections. You will apply your power systems expertise to deliver high-quality studies, develop network models, interpret complex results and provide clear technical advice to clients. How You'll Make an Impact You will undertake complex power system studies that support critical investment, planning, connection and operational decisions across the energy sector. Your work may include load flow, short circuit, transient stability, voltage stability, small signal, generator and load connection, arc-flash, insulation coordination, feasibility and network planning studies. You will develop and validate network models using industry-standard simulation tools, analyse study outcomes and prepare clear, accurate technical reports. Working with project leaders, clients and PSC's global specialists, you will help coordinate technical activities, manage your work against project scope, schedule and budget, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects. You will also have opportunities to support client relationships, contribute to proposals and case studies, share technical knowledge and guide less-experienced engineers. What You'll Bring A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a specialisation in power systems, supported by five or more years of professional experience delivering power system studies outside an academic environment. You will have practical experience across generation, transmission, network planning or grid connection projects, along with advanced capability in simulation software such as PSS®E, PSCAD and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Experience using multiple software packages will be highly regarded. You’ll independently deliver technical workstreams, communicate outcomes clearly and collaborate effectively with clients and global teams. Progress towards professional engineering registration will be highly regarded. Why PSC?
