Contract: Technical Development & Validation Engineer – Polymer-Lined Steel Pipe (Energy Sector)
Remote | EU / UK | Fixed-fee, approx. 3–4 weeks
A European technology company is commissioning an experienced engineer to develop and validate a technical package for a polymer-lined steel pipe technology used in demanding energy applications.
You’ll build it from established engineering practice and public-domain sources, then stress-test it honestly: does it hold up, and where are the gaps?
What you’ll do
▸ Develop the technical package: process specification, design basis and material selection
▸ Define the QA approach and a test plan for qualification
▸ Validate the package against relevant standards and engineering practice
▸ Flag risks, weak points and what must be tested before field use
▸ Deliver a signed validation report
Desk-based: no lab work, no site visits.
What we need from you
▸ 10+ years in lined pipe, non-metallic pipe or polymer piping systems
▸ Solid understanding of thermoplastic behaviour under temperature, pressure and chemically aggressive service
▸ Working knowledge of relevant API, ISO and NACE standards
▸ Able to produce clear, structured technical documentation
▸ Nice to have: technology qualification experience (e.g. DNV-RP-A203)
How it works
- Details shared under NDA after initial screening. Commissioned work: all deliverables and IP belong to the company. Freelance or via your own company.
