The Opportunity

Join our Engineering & Technical team in Dandenong South as a Contract Specialist – Major Projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers and corporate teams, you will provide hands-on commercial and contract management support across a varied portfolio of engineering and infrastructure projects. This role offers broad exposure to tendering, supplier performance and complex contractual matters, with a strong focus on delivering commercial value.

In this role you will also:

• Prepare and manage end-to-end tenders for project packages valued below $1 million, in partnership with Procurement.
• Work with engineers and project teams to develop clear scopes and statements of work for contractors.
• Review tender submissions, evaluate commercial terms and support contractor selection.
• Manage contract administration, variations, extension-of-time requests, claims and dispute resolution.
• Monitor contractor performance and support compliance with agreed contract terms and deliverables.
• Contribute to supplier panels, contracting strategies and decisions on lump-sum or schedule-of-rates arrangements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, HSE and project delivery teams to manage commercial risk and improve supplier management practices.

About You

You are a commercially astute contracts professional with experience supporting complex projects from tender through to contract delivery. Detail-oriented and confident in negotiations, you can balance competing priorities while building trusted relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Approximately five to eight years or more of relevant contracts or commercial management experience in project environments.
• Demonstrated experience preparing tenders, evaluating submissions and supporting statements of work.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, variations, claims, extensions of time and dispute resolution.
• Sound commercial judgement, negotiation skills and understanding of project costs and contractual risk.
• Experience in infrastructure, construction, oil and gas or comparable engineering project environments.
• Excellent attention to detail, prioritisation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Relevant qualifications in commercial, engineering, legal or project management disciplines; legal experience advantageous.
