We are seeking a savvy financial professional for Controllership duties with mastery over remote work and maximizing this privilege to one's benefit and life fulfillment. Our #1 mission is to provide business strategy well supported by our teams' consistent, efficient and cost-effective financial reporting. The Controller role will require majority of daytime availability dedicated to your specific accounts' activities, although many tasks may be performed off-hours. You will provide fractional Controller services to small and/or mid-sized businesses. This is a Contractor role. We will match your skillset and available monthly capacity with appropriate assignments as they become available. Assignments are generally long-term and last greater than 12 months – 2 years or more. Short-term projects are available, at times, as well. Work is project-based but may include hourly rates ranging from $35-60/hour dependent on skill level required of the contractor. Day to day tasks will include: Completes financial reconciliations Closes the books on a monthly basis Produces clear monthly financial statements Prepares year-end financials May perform account restructuring Ensures accuracy of General Ledger Review/provide oversight of AP/AR Performs some project management of financial team initiatives May perform some payroll duties Year-end reporting May contribute on special projects Bonus: Can play up or down into additional team roles to include CFO or Transactional Personality/Character traits required: Is comfortable and embraces modified GAAP (few exclusions) approach for small business clients Self-described as approachable, warm, gritty, and growth mindset-oriented Naturally able to inspire and motivate others in a positive way, including respectful constructive criticism Ownership mentality Natural storyteller through numbers and data Hungry to learn and adapt through technology-driven financial services Glass half full: Believes in working towards the best version of yourself and living life with gratitude Embraces and realizes the potential within a young company Sees and readily accepts the challenge of maximizing life and work through time management practice Skills Work experience as a Controller or similar role Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Experience with cash management and risk assessment Good knowledge of accounting software Attention to detail Ability to work with tight deadlines BS or MS in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field CPA or CMA preferred
