The Opportunity

This role helps build a sustainable control environment that supports governance, risk management, and operational excellence. It ensures controls are practical, scalable, and embedded into business processes, enabling RS Group to meet regulatory and strategic goals. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of a robust and sustainable control environment within a growing and evolving function.

The Group Controls function is responsible for building and embedding a robust control environment across RS Group. This includes designing and implementing a global controls framework aligned to principal risks and financial risks, supporting compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, and enabling effective governance and risk management. The team works closely with Finance, Transformation, Operational Audit, ESG, and other key stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager- Controls, this role contributes to the effective implementation and ongoing operation of RS Group’s global control framework. It supports the integration of controls into core processes by helping ensure they are well‑designed, accurately documented, and consistently applied across the organisation. The role provides day‑to‑day oversight and support to key stakeholders, maintains the accuracy and functionality of the controls system, and produces clear, insightful reporting used by senior leaders to oversee progress and risk exposure. This role has significant exposure to the Director of Controls and wider leadership.

As a key point of contact for control owners, the Controls Analyst builds capability across the business by offering practical guidance, clarifying expectations, and supporting continuous improvement. The role provides broad exposure to how a global business operates and offers valuable experience in governance, controls, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Proactively supporting the development of RS Group’s control environment and compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code. The role helps embed a global controls framework and promotes a culture of risk and control awareness.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in audit, risk management, or internal controls (ideally gaining experience from within a FTSE firm, industry control's role, or similar).
  • Proven understanding of internal control concepts, including documentation, testing and remediation.
  • An appetite to become proficient in control systems (e.g. AuditBoard), including configuration, maintenance and reporting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, curious mindset — willing to learn, ask questions, and improve the way things are done.
  • Ability to analyse information, identify issues, and summarise findings clearly.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams across the organisation and explain control requirements to non-specialists.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and internal controls over principal risks (ICPR).
  • Experience in distribution, e-commerce, or other operationally complex environments.
  • Exposure to finance transformation, process harmonisation, or ERP implementation projects.
  • Experience supporting system or process implementations.
  • Familiarity with UK Corporate Governance Code, SOX, or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Relevant professional qualification in finance, audit, or risk (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) desirable.
  • Additional certifications in risk or controls (e.g. CRMA, CISA, IRM qualifications) are highly desirable.
