Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time remote role responsible for organizing and supporting TechMatter’s volunteer initiatives and programs. This role includes recruiting, onboarding, and training volunteers, as well as maintaining accurate records and schedules to ensure effective coverage for events and activities. The coordinator will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify volunteer opportunities, manage communications, and promote engagement across communities and digital platforms. Day-to-day tasks involve developing volunteer guidelines and resources, monitoring participation, providing ongoing support and feedback, and resolving issues to create a positive volunteer experience. The role also involves evaluating program impact, preparing reports, and recommending improvements to strengthen TechMatter’s community outreach and social impact efforts.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training skills to coordinate programs, onboard participants, and support ongoing engagement.
• Candidates should have excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build relationships, facilitate collaboration, and represent TechMatter with diverse stakeholders.
• Candidates should demonstrate experience in Community Outreach, including planning initiatives, promoting participation, and engaging community partners.
• Relevant experience in coordinating volunteers or community programs, preferably in technology, nonprofit, or corporate social responsibility settings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities in a remote, part-time environment.
• Comfort with digital tools for scheduling, communication, and data tracking; experience with CRM or volunteer management software is a plus.
• Commitment to inclusivity, ethical conduct, and building a positive, supportive environment for volunteers and community members.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent practical experience is valued.
