Are you passionate about creating a great customer experience and making sure people receive the right support from their very first contact with us?
If you are organised, enjoy helping people and can balance great customer service with accurate administration, we would love to hear from you. Full training will be provided.
So, what’s the role about?
The Corporate Customer Service Team is the first point of contact for a wide range of internal and external customers. We deliver high-quality services for Gloucestershire County Council through its Blue Badge Service, Shire Hall Reception, telephone, email and online channels.
As a Corporate Customer Services Administrator, you will help deliver a positive customer experience. Your varied day may include answering calls, responding to enquiries, processing Blue Badge applications, completing administrative tasks and welcoming visitors to Shire Hall Reception. You will be comfortable working at pace while keeping records accurate and entering data correctly and promptly.
A key part of the role is supporting customers by telephone, email and in person. You will listen carefully, understand their needs and provide a helpful, professional response. Some customers may be upset or dissatisfied, so you will need to remain calm, courteous and confident while handling concerns in line with our procedures.
We offer flexible working, combining office and home-based work. During your three-month probation period, you will work from our Shire Hall office in Gloucester.
A little bit about us…

What we need from you
We are looking for someone who enjoys helping people and takes pride in getting the details right. You will be organised, comfortable using computer-based systems and able to manage different priorities. You will communicate clearly with a wide range of people, work flexibly and know how important it is to follow procedures and keep information confidential. Experience of reception or front-of-house work, records management, data entry or financial administration would be helpful.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do and how we treat each other. They provide essential guiding principles about the way that we work and set the tone for our culture, and identify what we, as an organisation, care about. See more about our Values on our website.
If you hold the same behaviours and approach, then we want to hear from you! In exchange, we will provide you with full training and support to help you succeed in your role.
