About the Role
The Corporate Responsibility Specialist supports the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate responsibility programs, requirements, and related initiatives across AFL, with a primary focus on Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) program management. This role helps translate RBA, customer, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations into practical internal processes, governance structures, reporting, and cross-functional action.
Reporting to the Corporate Responsibility Manager, this position works across supply chain, commercial, legal, compliance, sustainability, operations, engineering, and business-unit teams. Success requires a highly organized, self-directed professional who can create structure, coordinate action, and communicate clearly across functions. The ideal candidate is experienced in independently building and maturing a cross-functional program with limited day-to-day direction.

What You'll Do
RBA Program Management & Requirements
• Lead coordination of AFL’s Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) membership, commitments, annual obligations, internal tracking, and related leadership updates.
• Help define and communicate internal expectations for alignment with the RBA Code of Conduct and related requirements across AFL operations and the supply chain.
• Monitor updates to the RBA Code of Conduct, RBA VAP standard, and related regulations and standards, and support business adoption of new or updated requirements.
• Schedule and support Validated Assessment Program (VAP) audits as required; coordinate internal preparation, gap assessments, corrective actions, and shared learnings across the business and supply chain.
• Maintain trackers, dashboards, review cadences, and concise leadership updates to support visibility into RBA commitments, risks, decisions, and resourcing needs.
Cross-Functional Implementation & Gap Closure
• Support business adoption of the RBA Code of Conduct across operations and supply chain by translating expectations into practical processes, timelines, ownership models, and escalation paths.
• Create structure where ownership, process, documentation, or accountability are unclear, and drive alignment on practical gap-closure plans.
• Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, tools, and documentation that support consistent implementation across functions.
• Represent Corporate Responsibility on the Product Stewardship Task Force, with a focus on responsible sourcing, responsible minerals, supply chain due diligence, and related customer and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate working groups and action-oriented meetings that move programs from concept to execution.
• Develop and support recurring training, guidance, and practical tools for cross-functional teams.
Customer, Commercial & Stakeholder Support
• Lead or coordinate responses to customer responsible sourcing, social responsibility, supplier due diligence, and sustainability-related requests that require cross-functional input.
• Support commercial and supply chain teams in understanding customer due diligence requirements, routing requests appropriately, and providing consistent responses.
Success Measures / KPIs
• RBA commitments, annual obligations, and internal reporting milestones are completed on time, with accurate tracking and clear visibility for leadership.
• VAP audit preparation, gap assessments, corrective actions, and shared learnings are coordinated effectively across applicable functions.
• Corporate responsibility requirements, risks, and customer requests are routed, documented, and escalated consistently through established ownership and decision-making processes.
• Procedures, work instructions, tools, and ownership models are maintained and used by cross-functional teams to support consistent implementation.
• Customer and internal stakeholder requests are responded to accurately, consistently, and within expected timelines.
• RBA and related corporate responsibility program maturity improves over time through stronger documentation, coordination, training, and stakeholder engagement.

What Sets You Up For Success
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, business, supply chain, environmental studies, compliance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate responsibility, sustainability, ESG, responsible sourcing, supply chain risk, procurement compliance, customer due diligence, or related program management.
• Proven experience coordinating cross-functional programs that require stakeholder alignment, process development, documentation, and sustained follow-through.
• Demonstrated ability to clarify ambiguous requirements, create structure, manage priorities, and drive work to completion with limited day-to-day direction.
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to simplify complex external requirements into practical internal guidance.
• Ability to facilitate cross-functional discussions, gather input from multiple stakeholders, and translate decisions into clear actions.
• Ability to prepare clear leadership updates, communicate risks and recommendations, and support cross-functional alignment on decisions, ownership, and next steps.
• Comfortable working in a developing program environment where processes may need to be built, improved, or standardized over time.
Preferred
• Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), supplier code of conduct, human rights due diligence, VAP audit support, or responsible sourcing program experience.
• Experience supporting customer sustainability, responsible sourcing, supply chain due diligence, or social responsibility requests and cross-functional evidence collection.
• Conflict minerals program experience, including familiarity with OECD-aligned due diligence expectations and ability to support business adoption of RBA responsible minerals requirements.
• Project management, continuous improvement, training development, or change-management experience in a manufacturing, technology, supply chain, or industrial environment.

What You Can Expect

• Some travel may be required, but not frequent (<15%).
