Creative Strategist (WFH/Remote)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a performance marketing agency. We run paid ads for ecommerce brands.

Our team is split into 4 pods. Each pod runs about 3 clients from start to finish. Every pod has media buyers, video editors, a graphic designer and a content strategist.

This role is the final creative decision-maker for all 4 pods.

You will not manage people. Each pod already has team leads and managers who check the work. Your job is to decide what we make, why we make it, and what we learn from it.

The goal is simple: find more winning ads.

A winning ad lets our client spend more money on ads. More spend means more sales for them and more revenue for us. That is the whole game.

We are growing from 80 people to 150 over the next 18 months. More pods will be added. This role grows with them.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

1. The final yes or no

New ad ideas, scripts, briefs for designers, finished videos and posters. Nothing goes live until you approve it. Others have already checked the quality before it reaches you. You decide if the idea is worth making at all.

2. What gets made first

You decide which ideas get the team's time, which ones wait, and which ones we drop.

3. Strategy for products we already run

Find the patterns that are working. Notice when an ad is getting tired. Decide what we do more of, what we change, and what we stop.

4. Strategy for new products

Learn the product and the customer fast. Decide what we test first.

5. Competitor research

The strategists do the research. You check if it was done properly, decide what actually matters, and decide what we do about it. Copy nothing, but learn from everything.

6. Turning results into new ideas

Media buyers will tell you what worked and what did not. Your job is to figure out why, and turn that into the next round of ads.

7. Clear reasons for every rejection

Write down why you said no. This is how the team stops making the same mistake twice.

8. Lifting the standard over time

If you are doing this well, the work reaching you gets better every month, and you have to reject less.

BEFORE YOU APPROVE ANYTHING, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER

• Who is this ad for?

• What problem or desire does it speak to?

• What is our guess about why it will work?

• How is it different from what we have already tested?

• What will we learn from it?

A beautiful ad with a weak idea gets rejected.

A strong idea with fixable problems gets sent back with clear instructions.

WHAT YOU WILL NOT DO

• Talk to clients. That is handled by others.

• Run the ad accounts day to day

• Set campaign strategy. The media buying managers own that.

• Do the first round of competitor research. The content strategists do that.

• Check scripts line by line. The content strategy team lead does that.

• Manage production quality. The editing, design and content managers do that.

• Make the ads yourself

• Manage individual team members

WHAT YOUR WEEK LOOKS LIKE

Every day

• Clear your pending approvals in one or two focused blocks, not all day

• Quick check in with media buying on what is winning and what is dying

Every week

• Look back at what you rejected. Is the same mistake coming back?

• Break down every new winning ad. Why did it win? What do we make next?

• Review competitor activity

• Set creative priorities for each client and product

• Check where we are not testing anything new

This is a thinking job, not a meeting job.

HOW WE WILL JUDGE YOUR WORK

• How many new winning ads we find across all 4 pods

• What share of our tests actually win

• How much better our results get when we build on a winning idea

• How much of the work matches the agreed strategy

• How fast a learning turns into a new ad going live

• Whether the same creative mistakes stop repeating

We do not count how many ads you approve. More ads do not mean better results.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN 90 DAYS

• Every pod knows your standard and can predict your decisions

• The ideas reaching you are visibly better than on day one

• Rejections are written down and the team is learning from them

• Competitor research is turning into real decisions, not just documents

• We are building on our winners properly, and finding more of them

YOU WILL DO WELL HERE IF YOU

• Spot patterns quickly across products, competitors and results

• Learn fast and change your mind when the evidence says you were wrong

• Judge ads by whether they will sell, not by whether you personally like them

• Can decide without having all the information

• Want to know why something worked, not just that it worked

• Will say no to work that looks great but is built on a weak idea

• Can disagree with senior people politely, when you have a reason

• Can keep all 4 pods in your head without getting stuck inside one

YOU WILL STRUGGLE HERE IF YOU

• Approve work because it looks nice

• Copy competitors without understanding what they are doing

• Cannot explain why an ad should work

• Keep running an old idea just because it worked before

• Have opinions but cannot turn them into clear decisions

• Check every small detail and slow everyone down

• Take work back and do it yourself instead of teaching the team

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

3+ years as a content or creative strategist for ecommerce ads, where you owned what got made and why.

You do not need to be a media buyer. But you do need to pick up the numbers fast enough to connect the ad to the result. We will teach you this. You must learn it quickly.

We are not counting years, titles, or how well you interview. We are looking for judgment.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Fully remote for the first 3 to 6 months. After that, hybrid from our Ludhiana office.

Creative Strategy Lead

Please apply only if you can work from Ludhiana on a hybrid basis from around month six.
