Do you enjoy solving problems, building positive customer relationships, and making a real difference through your work?

We're looking for a Credit Controller to join our NHS SBS Order to Cash (O2C) team in Leeds, helping to recover monies owed to NHS organisations while delivering an outstanding customer experience. This isn't traditional end-to-end credit control. Instead, you'll play a vital role in the recovery of public funds, supporting NHS organisations through professional, empathetic, and effective customer interactions.

You'll be joining a collaborative team of finance professionals who work hard, support one another, and celebrate success together. The role offers a great mix of structured responsibilities and opportunities to broaden your skills, whether that's analysing data, resolving complex customer queries, or developing expertise across different areas of the business. We recognise individual strengths and actively support career development, giving you the opportunity to shape your role as your skills and experience grow.

This is a hybrid role based in Leeds. Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Leeds (up to one hour) and have a suitable home-working environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Recovering monies owed to NHS organisations through customer contact via email and telephone.
  • Managing a high volume of inbound and outbound customer communications, ensuring accurate updates are made to customer accounts and ledgers.
  • Investigating and resolving invoice, payment and account queries to achieve positive outcomes for both customers and the business.
  • Using Excel and other systems to manipulate, analyse and maintain financial data.
  • Communicating complex financial information clearly and professionally, adapting your approach to suit individual customer circumstances.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team objectives and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in credit control, collections, customer service, finance, accounts, or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly and professionally.
  • Experience managing a high volume of workload, emails, calls, or customer queries in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to accurately maintain records and account information.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and working with spreadsheets and data.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships within a team.

It would be great if you had:

  • An understanding of ledgers, invoicing, accounts receivable, or debt recovery processes.
  • Experience working within a finance, credit control, or regulated collections environment.
  • Experience handling sensitive or potentially emotive customer conversations with professionalism and empathy.

If you're interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!
