Job Summary
Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.The Customs and Trade Compliance Coordinator will be based in Kendal, Cumbria, and reporting to the EMEA Customs Manager.
The Customs & Trade Compliance Coordinator will provide expert guidance on customs and international trade compliance matters to enhance operational efficiency and cost effectiveness across Anord Mardix UK. The role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and external business partners to ensure compliance, customer satisfaction, and optimal business outcomes. Additionally, the position will ensure adherence to all applicable customs, trade, and government regulations while supporting the organization's compliance objectives.
What a typical day looks like:
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of import/export regulations and customs/trade initiatives
- Develop and maintain policy and procedures, including internal controls, to ensure Customs regulations compliance is adhered to, in line with relevant Government authorities and Anord Mardix internal requirements
- Ensure import/export documentation and procedures are maintained in accordance with customs standards and requirements
- Perform regular customs compliance activity, as deemed mandatory by the EMEA Customs Manager, on Anord Mardix UK’s imports and exports, to include classification, valuation and origin
- Notify EMEA Customs Manager should any audit activity and/or non-compliance discrepancies be identified, taking corrective action where necessary to ensure import and export transactions adhere to customs compliance
- Perform required Sanction Lists and Restricted and Denied Party Lists Screening as per Global Trade Compliance requirements
- Ensure adherence to Export Control compliance and classification
- Provide advice and support to the business on customs and international trade requirements and inform other departments of any issues that may arise affecting their operation
- Implement and maintain a record-keeping system to comply with HM Revenue & Customs requirements
- Provide support to the EMEA Customs Manager and Global Trade Compliance colleagues when government authority and/or internal audits are conducted
- To act as the CBAM authorised declarant for Anord Mardix UK ensuring reporting requirements are met in a timely manner
- To be the Anord Mardix UK Trade Compliance Coordinator (TCC) ensuring information is provided and/or disseminated as required
- Ensure EU customs guidelines are followed by vendors, purchasing, brokers, site logistics and other responsible parties through education and training of customs compliance laws and regulations
- Attend import and export compliance seminars for updates on latest customs rules and regulations
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- A degree from an accredited university with a focus on Supply Chain, Customs, Business Administration, or equivalent - a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a Trade Compliance or Customs Compliance oriented role
- Knowledge of Customs and Trade Compliance regulations, EU customs guidelines
- Experienced in Export Control compliance and Export Classification
- Experienced in practical aspects of customs compliance
- Experience with customs import and export declarations and customs broker management
- Demonstrated business reasoning, analytical and critical thinking
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal
- High degree of self-management, enthusiasm and results-driven
- Ability to travel 10-20 % within the UK North West
