About Our Client

Our client is a specialist cyber security consultancy delivering customer identity, access management and security transformation programs for enterprise organisations across Australia.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior CIAM Engineer / Consultant with deep Auth0 expertise to help design, build and deliver modern customer identity solutions across a range of complex enterprise environments.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on role combining Auth0 engineering, solution design, integration development and technical leadership.

You will be responsible for designing, configuring, developing and supporting Auth0-based Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions while working closely with architects, developers, security teams and business stakeholders.

The role will suit an experienced identity professional who enjoys remaining technically hands-on whilst also providing leadership, guidance and architectural input throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Auth0 Engineering & Delivery:

• Design, configure and implement enterprise-scale Auth0 solutions.
• Configure and manage Auth0 tenants, applications, connections, organisations and authentication flows.
• Develop and customise Auth0 Actions and authentication workflows.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, SSO, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and passwordless authentication.
• Design secure API authorisation, machine-to-machine authentication and token management solutions.
• Integrate Auth0 with enterprise applications, APIs and third-party platforms.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD deployment capabilities.
• Support identity migrations, account linking and platform modernisation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot, optimise and support production identity environments.

Solution Design & Technical Leadership:

• Translate business and security requirements into scalable CIAM solutions.
• Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and technical documentation.
• Design and implement B2B and B2C identity solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and code reviews.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and security teams to resolve complex identity challenges.
• Take ownership of technical deliverables from design through to deployment and handover.

Customer Engagement:

• Lead technical workshops and solution design discussions.
• Work directly with enterprise customers and stakeholders.
• Support integration testing, deployment activities and production support.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and implementation artefacts.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth of the identity practice through knowledge sharing and mentoring.

The Successful Candidate

You will bring strong hands-on experience across identity, authentication and customer identity platforms, with proven Auth0 delivery experience.

Essential Experience

• Strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM).
• Proven experience delivering Auth0 solutions within enterprise environments.
• Strong experience configuring, customising and troubleshooting Auth0 platforms.
• Experience developing Auth0 Actions, API integrations and custom authentication workflows.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SSO, MFA and JWT.
• Experience with REST APIs, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing B2B and/or B2C identity solutions.
• Strong solution design and technical documentation skills.
• Experience leading technical delivery whilst remaining actively hands-on.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Highly Regarded

• Auth0 and/or Okta certifications.
• Experience delivering CIAM transformation programs.
• Cloud platform experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Customer identity migration and modernisation experience.
• Experience integrating identity platforms with enterprise applications and APIs.
• Financial services, retail or large enterprise experience.
• Experience within a cyber security consulting or professional services environment.
