Cybersecurity Architect - Software and Systems Integration

Are you motivated by the idea of working on a program that is key to Europe’s sovereignty and security?

GOVSATCOM is a strategic pillar of the EU’s space program, designed to provide secure, resilient, and efficient satellite communications to authorized users. Its development strengthens Europe’s technological autonomy and its ability to ensure the continent’s security.

We´ll get to the point; we'll tell you what's not on the web. If you want to know more about us go to GMV website

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

You will join the engineering team for the GOVSATCOM program, in the space and secure communications sector, to define and coordinate the integration of cybersecurity throughout the system’s entire lifecycle.

Your challenge will be to understand how the system is built, how its components interact, and how to translate security requirements into technical solutions and evidence of compliance. You will work with software, infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams, aligning engineering activities with customer requirements and accreditation needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and reviewing the cybersecurity architecture, taking into account interfaces, information flows, and dependencies between subsystems.
  • Translating security requirements into concrete measures and coordinating their implementation and verification with the technical teams.
  • Maintaining traceability between requirements, design decisions, implemented measures, tests, and evidence of compliance.
  • Coordinate technical cybersecurity activities, identifying dependencies, risks, and roadblocks.
  • Participate in design reviews and assess the impact of changes and vulnerabilities, guiding their resolution with the responsible specialists.
  • Prepare technical security documentation and maintain the necessary deliverables and evidence throughout the various phases of accreditation.
  • Present the technical status of cybersecurity and participate in meetings with systems engineering and management.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

For this position, we are looking for a Computer Engineer or someone with an equivalent background who demonstrates in-depth knowledge of software development and systems integration, along with experience applying cybersecurity to engineering projects.

We need you to bring:

  • A solid foundation in software engineering and the software development lifecycle, or in-depth technical knowledge of communications infrastructure.
  • The ability to understand complex architectures and analyze how a change or vulnerability affects other components of the system.
  • Experience defining cybersecurity requirements, translating them into technical measures, and establishing criteria to verify compliance.
  • Experience with certification processes and the preparation of technical security documentation, including an understanding of the deliverables for each phase and how to update them in response to system changes.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, ENS, CCN-STIC, NIST, or equivalents.
  • Autonomy and technical judgment to discuss solutions with developers and specialists, facilitate agreements, and clearly communicate complex issues.
  • Take responsibility for cybersecurity risk management with clients and internal teams, coordinating the identification, assessment, and treatment of risks, and monitoring mitigation actions and residual risk.

We will also value:

  • Previous experience in software development and the ability to read code.
  • Experience in secure development, code analysis, vulnerability management, and security testing.
  • Knowledge of Linux, networking, containers, and infrastructure security.
  • Experience working on large-scale critical systems projects, secure communications, or the space sector.
