Data Center Fire Protection Design Engineer

Job Description This is a remote position. Manning Global, a premier global staffing and managed services provider specialising in worldwide leading sectors such as ICT, Engineering, AI, Automotive and Energy is seeking a qualified, independent Data Center Fire Protection Design Engineer Consultant or specialized service provider to support an upcoming project. This engagement focuses strictly on achieving key milestones as per the SOW. Project duration: 1 year Project Start: June 2026 Project Location: Helsinki/Remote Contact: Jo Tianchang Li | +49(0)8923889842 Scope of Work: Understand data center infrastructure and technology development trends in Nordic countries and Finland; be familiar with fire protection system architectures and global mainstream suppliers; understand Finnish fire protection system design specifications and implementation standards. Collaborate with design consulting firms to develop fire protection design solutions based on client data center construction requirements, including fire detection, fire alarm, water-based fire suppression, and gaseous fire suppression systems. Responsible for fire protection system construction drawing detailing and review; produce design drawings and bill of quantities (BOQ) that meet pre-sales bidding and construction requirements; support project cost estimation, procurement inquiry, and engineering accounting. Participate in on-site construction technical guidance to ensure project delivery. Bachelor's degree or above in Water Supply and Drainage, Electrical Automation, or related fields; minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in fire protection or water supply and drainage; experience in large design institutes is preferred. Proven experience in fire protection system design or delivery for large-scale data centers or industrial plants. Profound knowledge of EU and Finnish national standards, design and construction specifications. Familiar with construction engineering bidding, scheme design, and implementation processes; capable of independently completing high-level design, construction drawing design, and product selection. Proficient in office software (WORD/EXCEL/PPT), drawing software (AUTOCAD), and have BIM design capabilities. Experience in on-site requirement coordination, technical disclosure, and on-site delivery assurance. Fluent in English listening, speaking, reading and writing.
