Do you want to make data truly work? At adesso, we are looking for a Data Engineer who knows how to translate complex data issues into scalable, efficient solutions. Someone who embraces cloud technology, but also understands that good data solutions start with understanding the process behind the numbers.

As a Data Engineer at adesso, you are an indispensable link in our data-driven projects. You ensure that raw, scattered, and unstructured data is transformed into reliable and accessible information. You do this by building robust data pipelines, modeling data layers, and setting up (cloud) data architectures that really work for the customer.

What makes you special is that you are not only technically strong, but also contribute ideas about the content. You understand the customer's context, set realistic expectations, and work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other specialists.

Your Role in Projects:

• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data platforms in the cloud

• Structuring, transforming, and loading structured and unstructured data

• Translating customer processes into workable data structures

• Building reliable and scalable architectures with an eye for performance and maintenance

• Setting up data storage, integrations, and access via BI tools or APIs

• Contributing ideas about data quality, governance, and security

• Collaborating with colleagues in multidisciplinary teams

Required technical skills & knowledge:

PL/SQL - Python - Microsoft Fabric - Microsoft Synapse - Microsoft SQL Server - Snowflake - DBT -Agile - Power BI - AI - Databricks - ML

Your profile

• You have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

• You have at least 5 years work experience as data engineer and experience in at least one data platform: Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake

• You have strong command of SQL & Python, ETL/ELT processes and data modeling.

• You communicate clearly in Dutch/French and English (spoken and written)

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

• Experience with CI/CD (preferred) and knowledge of dbt and/or Spark (preferred)

• Familiarity with data integration tools such as SSIS, ADF, or Airflow

• Experience with visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau

• Understanding of data governance, security, and Agile working methods

• You are analytical, structured, and have strong communication skills
