Data Management Specialist

Role Description The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and improving data assets that support robotics research and development activities. Day-to-day tasks include implementing data governance policies, monitoring data quality, managing master data repositories, and ensuring consistent data standards across projects and domains. The role involves collaborating with researchers and technical teams to understand data needs, supporting data integration, and preparing datasets for analysis and experimentation. The specialist will document data processes and metadata, contribute to compliance with data-related regulations and best practices, and identify opportunities to enhance data reliability and accessibility. This is a part-time, remote role.

Qualifications

• Strong data governance and data management skills, including the ability to define and uphold data standards and policies.
• Experience with data quality and master data management, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of key data sets.
• Well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data requirements and support data-driven decision making.
• Familiarity with databases, data modeling, and basic data integration techniques; experience with research or technical environments is an advantage.
• Attention to detail, structured working style, and ability to document processes clearly and maintain thorough data records.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting.
• Relevant academic background in data management, information science, computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance practices; experience with robotics or AI projects is beneficial.
