Data Protection Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Specialist to join our Global Privacy & Compliance Team and help shape privacy practices that enable responsible, scalable patient and consumer engagement across our markets. In this role, you will help embed privacy into new and evolving initiatives, making it easier for teams to innovate while keeping patients’ and consumers’ rights, expectations and trust at the centre of what we do.

What you will do

• Provide practical legal advice on data protection and privacy, including GDPR and local legislation across our markets

• Advise on privacy requirements throughout the lifecycle of patient and consumer programs across multiple countries

• Draft and review privacy notices, consent language and data processing agreements, and advise on consent and preference management across the data lifecycle

• Develop proportionate privacy policies, procedures and governance, working with local experts and stakeholders to support a consistent global direction

• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on cross-border processing and international data transfers

• Contribute to broader priorities of the Global Privacy & Compliance Team, including relevant training and awareness activities

What do you need to be successful?

Must-have

• A law degree and at least 5 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial work with privacy and data protection

• Strong knowledge of GDPR and related European privacy requirements

• Experience advising on privacy and data protection matters involving direct engagement with patients, consumers or customers

• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across functions and markets

• Full professional proficiency in English

• A practical, self-motivated and independent working style, with the ability to create structure and move things forward in an evolving environment

Nice-to-have

• Experience in medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry

• Experience supporting patient engagement, marketing, CRM, consent management or other direct-to-consumer initiatives, preferably across multiple countries

• Experience applying privacy by design to digital products or platforms; familiarity with website tracking technologies, Salesforce, advertising platforms or marketing technology is an advantage

Working model and location

This role is open to candidates located in Denmark or Sweden. We are open to a fully remote working setup, with the possibility of a hybrid model for candidates based near our offices in Copenhagen or Stockholm.
