Job Title: Data Reliability Engineer (DRE)
Job Type: Contract (C2C)
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Remote (USA / Canada)
Pay Rate: $60-70/hr C2C/1099 all inclusive
Open Positions: 2
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Data Reliability Engineer (DRE) to join our enterprise data practice on a remote contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for driving pipeline uptime, automating observability, and building "shift-left" operational readiness into our data delivery pipelines. You will partner with engineering and operations teams to establish robust incident management, runbooks, and enterprise tool integrations.
Note: Candidates with prior experience working in global system integrators and consulting firms (e.g., HCLTech, Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, or similar) will be given strong preference.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Platform Reliability: Design, build, and maintain automated observability, alerting, and telemetry for critical end-to-end data pipelines.
Shift-Left Operations: Collaborate early with engineering teams to embed operational readiness, fault tolerance, and reliability standards directly into CI/CD delivery pipelines.
Incident Management & Enablement: Lead incident response workflows, develop actionable runbooks, and empower support teams with the training and tools necessary to maintain SLAs.
API & Systems Integration: Build and manage REST API integrations connecting data platforms with enterprise ecosystem tools such as ServiceNow, Okta, and monitoring hubs.
Observability Architecture: Implement and optimize dashboards, log monitoring, and metrics tracking using platforms like Datadog, Splunk, or AWS CloudWatch.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Data Reliability Engineering (DRE), DataOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Consulting Background: Prior experience in large-scale client environments with global IT consulting services or system integration firms (e.g., HCLTech, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, etc.) is highly preferred.
Monitoring & Observability: Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, or AWS CloudWatch).
Incident & Support Enablement: 2+ years of experience with structured production incident management, runbook creation, and support enablement.
Integrations: Proven track record with API integration (REST, ServiceNow, Okta) across operational workflows.
Pipeline Operations: Practical understanding of embedding operational readiness and reliability metrics into automated data delivery pipelines.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interaction and operational documentation.
