Contract Data Scientist | Remote UK | 12 months

We’re hiring a senior Data Scientist for a 12-month contract with a global tech client, working in their Conversion Experiences group. Think e-commerce product data science: optimising how people discover and buy across major social platforms, without sending them off-site.

The work

• Product analytics to size total addressable markets
• Running feature experiments (free shipping, organic materials and similar) and evaluating buyer behaviour against purchasing trends
• A clear test rhythm: setup and prep, a two-week hands-off run, a week of evaluation, with key analytical questions picked up between cycles
• BI and dashboard support for online customer service, plus ad-hoc analysis
• Python scripting on proprietary internal tools, with heavy use of multi-agent frameworks and AI tooling rather than hand-coding everything
• Backend engineering and production model deployment are not part of the role

What you’ll bring

• 8-10+ years in data science
• E-commerce experience, ideally within advertising platforms or alongside major retailers
• Advertising domain knowledge and solid experimentation methodology
• Strong hands-on IC capability: you drive work independently rather than manage people
• Python/SQL and/or R, big data tools or Tableau, and experience with large datasets
• Excellent written communication and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
