📣 Are you ready to manage, optimize, and secure mission-critical database environments for large-scale Identity & Biometrics solutions?

If you enjoy working across multi-database ecosystems (Oracle, SQL Server, Open-Source DBs), ensuring high availability, and collaborating with international R&D teams, this role is for you.

Our philosophy is “First who, then what.”

📍 This role is hybrid with 3 days onsite in Bucharest (includes travel opportunities across the Europe / Eurasia region).

🚀 First who?

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration across production and project delivery environments.
  • Solid hands-on expertise with Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, and Microsoft SQL Server (PostgreSQL is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows Server administration (CPU, memory, disk I/O, storage).
  • Practical experience in High Availability (HA), clustering, replication, and Disaster Recovery planning (RPO/RTO).
  • Solid grasp of database security: user access controls, TDE encryption, SSL/TLS, and CIS benchmark hardening.
  • Experience with capacity planning, SAN/NAS storage management, and performance diagnostics.
  • Ability to automate routine maintenance tasks using Shell scripting or DevOps tools.
  • Autonomous, decision-driven, and fluent in English with an openness to travel within Europe/Eurasia.

🚀 Then what?

  • You’ll ensure the performance, availability, and security of database solutions throughout their lifecycle.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with European Biometrics R&D teams (~50% of your time), delivery units, and support teams.
  • You’ll drive deployment automation, operational reliability, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • You’ll support on-site and remote customer implementations, migrations, and complex troubleshooting.

📌 Your mission

  • Install, configure, patch, and administer Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQL Server databases
  • Monitor database availability, health, growth, and capacity across delivery and live customer environments
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, connectivity issues, and execute SQL/database performance tuning
  • Implement, test, and maintain backup/recovery strategies, clustering, replication, and DR procedures
  • Enforce database security controls, manage privileges, implement TDE, and execute hardening procedures
  • Automate deployments and repetitive operational tasks using scripting and DevOps practices
  • Author clear technical procedures, runbooks, and reflex sheets for supervision and support teams
  • Provide technical expertise and on-site support during customer deployments or operational escalations

⚙️ Your toolbox Technical Skills
