Defence Project Manager | £50K-£58K | Bristol | Hybrid
What have you personally delivered?
It's a question I ask Project Managers regularly because there's a big difference between supporting a project and being accountable for getting it delivered.
I'm recruiting Project Managers for permanent positions supporting Ministry of Defence projects in Bristol. The main requirement is for experienced Project Managers operating at Level 3, although capable Level 2 practitioners with genuine delivery responsibility will also be considered.
The opportunity
- £50K-£58K basic salary, with up to £60K possible for exceptional candidates
- Permanent employment supporting UK MOD projects
- 3 days per week onsite in Bristol and 2 days working from home
- Responsibility for delivering projects, work packages or defined areas of larger programmes
The experience that matters
You'll need a background in UK defence project management and evidence of personally taking responsibility for delivery outcomes.
That could include:
- Leading projects, work packages or significant delivery activities through key lifecycle stages
- Managing scope, milestones, costs, risks, issues and changes
- Working with engineering, commercial, finance and Project Controls teams to keep delivery on track
- Managing customers, suppliers and other stakeholders within structured project governance arrangements
You don't need to be a specialist planner or Project Controls Manager. You do need to understand the information they provide and use it to make decisions about delivery.
Essential requirements
- Genuine project management delivery experience within UK defence
- Sole British nationality
- Current or previously held UK SC or DV security clearance
- A recognised project management qualification
- Ability to attend a Bristol MOD site 3 days per week with a sustainable commuting arrangement
APM PMQ and direct MOD or DE&S experience are particularly useful, although other recognised qualifications and relevant defence project delivery backgrounds will be considered.
Interested?
If you're a defence Project Manager who wants to continue delivering MOD projects in a permanent position, please apply with your CV.
I'm particularly interested in understanding the projects or work packages you've personally owned and the results you were responsible for delivering.
