About us:
Sydney Water is undertaking a 10-year multibillion dollar Infrastructure program to renew, expand & build infrastructure to support a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient water network for Sydney’s growing population. We provide safe drinking, recycled, wastewater, and stormwater services with a focus on reliability, affordability, and environmental sustainability. As a state-owned corporation, we prioritize customers and communities.

About the role:

This is a strategic enterprise leadership role responsible for shaping how Infrastructure Delivery operates and delivers at scale. Establishing a single point of accountability, you’ll bring together delivery processes, systems, governance, assurance and continuous improvement to create a coherent, scalable delivery model that strengthens performance and supports successful infrastructure outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the Delivery Solutions & Systems function, setting the strategy, operating model and accountabilities to enable consistent, scalable infrastructure delivery.
  • Own and evolve delivery frameworks, processes and governance, ensuring they support robust investment decisions, regulatory obligations and successful project outcomes.
  • Lead Infrastructure NSW reporting and assurance, ensuring submissions, data and governance are accurate, audit-ready and aligned with external assurance expectations.
  • Set priorities for delivery improvement initiatives, using assurance insights, performance data and lessons learned to strengthen performance, efficiency and risk management.
  • Partner across the organisation and advise senior leaders on delivery performance, assurance readiness and strategic risks, while building a high-performing, improvement-led function.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience across complex infrastructure environments, leading multidisciplinary teams and driving enterprise-wide process and delivery improvement.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to connect governance, assurance and project lifecycle requirements to improve delivery performance and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating regulatory and assurance environments, including government reporting, gateway reviews and external scrutiny.
  • Exceptional stakeholder leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence executives, provide clear strategic advice and build alignment across diverse business functions.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, combined with systems and process expertise and relevant professional certifications.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application to be considered for this role.
