JL Closets, a 35-year leader in premium custom storage solutions, is looking for a Design Operations & Quality Specialist to join our remote team. In this role, you’ll help oversee design workflows, ensure technical accuracy, maintain quality standards, and support our design team in delivering consistent, high-quality results.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor Design Quality: Review 3D designs, technical measurements, specifications, and quotes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee Design Workflows: Help manage design processes, track submissions, and ensure projects move efficiently through each stage.
• Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure design submissions meet JL Closets’ technical requirements and company standards.
• Identify & Resolve Issues: Detect errors, inconsistencies, and workflow bottlenecks, and coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.
• Support the Design Team: Provide technical guidance, constructive feedback, and follow-up to improve performance and consistency.
• Standardize Processes: Develop and reinforce procedures, checklists, and best practices for design reviews and quality control.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, productivity, turnaround times, and compliance with established workflows.

What We’re Looking For

• Background: A degree or professional background in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Design Knowledge: Understanding of space planning, technical drawings, measurements, and custom closet or storage layouts.
• Quality Control Expertise: Strong ability to identify design errors, inconsistencies, and potential technical issues before they affect production or installation.
• Operational Skills: Experience coordinating workflows, monitoring performance, documenting procedures, or improving operational processes.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong English communication skills and the ability to provide clear feedback, coordinate with team members, and reinforce quality standards.
• Technical Skills: Experience with KCD Software or similar design tools is preferred; Zoho CRM experience is a plus.
• Work Style: Highly organized, analytical, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
