By including everyone and ensuring equal opportunities we unleash our full potential.

Your contribution to something big:

You will contribute to an industrial research project focused on the investigation and characterization of sustainable materials for air-to-water heat pump applications. You will combine experimental work, data analysis, and model-based methods to evaluate materials and components, supporting the development of improved acoustic and functional performance. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Material Investigation & Characterization: Investigate, characterize, and analyze materials for heat pump applications, evaluating relevant material properties and their potential impact on system performance.
  • Acoustic Characterization: Perform acoustic characterization of materials and components, assessing their behaviour and contribution to the acoustic performance of heat pump systems.

  • Sustainability Assessment: Investigate and assess material sustainability based on available databases, material properties, and applicable sustainability requirements.

  • Simulation & Model-Based Methods: Apply model-based methods and simulation tools to analyse and support improvements in acoustic performance.

  • Experimental Testing: Prepare experimental setups, perform testing activities, and carry out data acquisition to support material and component evaluation.

  • Test Planning: Define and elaborate structured test plans and experiments to evaluate the acoustic properties and performance of components used in heat pump systems.

  • Data Analysis & Documentation: Analyse experimental and simulation data and prepare clear technical documentation, translating results into relevant insights to support engineering decisions.

What distinguishes you:

  • Education: Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical field.

  • Material Expertise: Knowledge of material characterization, including relevant material properties and sustainability-related requirements.

  • Acoustic Knowledge: Good understanding of acoustic principles and wave propagation, with an interest in applying this knowledge to engineering applications.

  • Testing & Experimentation: Understanding of testing techniques and methodologies, with experience in preparing experimental setups, performing tests, and defining structured test plans.

  • Data Acquisition & Analysis: Experience with data acquisition and analysis, with the ability to interpret experimental results and support technical conclusions.

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of rotating machines and experience working with hardware and/or laboratory testing activities.

  • Digital Tools: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink for engineering, testing, or simulation activities.

  • Working Style: Structured, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to take responsibility for your own work and independently propose solutions.

  • Teamwork & Communication: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
