## About the Role
Join Frontify as a Senior DevOps Engineer and help ensure that the platform's infrastructure is robust, reliable, secure, observable, and continuously improving. Working closely with R&D and other Engineering teams, you will investigate infrastructure issues, identify root causes, improve deployment and operational processes, and document relevant procedures.
You will play a key role in cloud infrastructure, incident management, observability, security, and DevSecOps. As an IT generalist, you will have the opportunity to shape the role while working with distributed Europe- and US-based teams. Frontify offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or from its St. Gallen office.
## Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust monitoring and observability frameworks for system performance, reliability, and early issue detection.
- Design, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure using DevOps practices.
- Own and evolve incident management processes, including on-call, postmortems, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Investigate infrastructure issues, identify root causes, and enable Engineering teams to resolve them.
- Manage and optimize web servers, relational databases, and Linux-based systems.
- Manage Docker containerization and container orchestration using technologies such as Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
- Build and maintain scalable and secure cloud solutions using AWS.
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Security, Developer Support, and Deployment Support teams to streamline workflows and troubleshoot issues.
- Improve system deployment and infrastructure processes.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure security best practices, including access management, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.
- Contribute to security compliance and foster a strong DevSecOps culture.
- Document relevant infrastructure and operational processes.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for Europe- and US-based teams on platform-related technical matters.
- Contribute to defining and shaping the DevOps/Platform role as the company and infrastructure evolve.
## Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineer, or Systems Engineer role, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Experience with web servers such as Nginx.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, including replication and performance tuning.
- Experience with Linux-based systems, including Amazon Linux, CentOS, or Red Hat.
- Experience with Docker containerization and container orchestration/management.
- Experience with Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
- Experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, or OpenSearch.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code for scalable environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
- Experience applying SRE principles, including SLOs and error budgets.
- Experience with incident management processes, including postmortems and driving improvements.
- Solid understanding of security practices in cloud and DevOps environments, including:
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Data protection
- Secrets management
- Compliance considerations such as ISO and GDPR
- Experience working in a fast-paced, distributed team environment.
- Fluent English.
