Senior DevOps Engineer – Industrial IoT & Automation

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and deployment automation to support industrial IoT and edge-to-cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HighByte Intelligence Hub and HiveMQ, including deployment, configuration, operations, and automation across multiple environments.

This role requires expertise in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, observability, security, and MQTT-based architectures, providing service closely with development, infrastructure, security, and OT teams to deliver reliable, scalable deployment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment pipelines for HighByte and HiveMQ.
• Automate environment provisioning, configuration, upgrades, validation, and rollback processes.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configure and support HighByte integrations between industrial/OT systems and enterprise or cloud platforms.
• Deploy, administer, and monitor HiveMQ MQTT broker environments.
• Support MQTT communication patterns and secure broker connectivity.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and health checks across applications and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot deployment, connectivity, performance, certificate, and messaging issues.
• Manage certificates, secrets, credentials, and service identities.
• Create operational documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Partner with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and scalability.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with HighByte Intelligence Hub.
• Experience deploying and managing HiveMQ or similar enterprise MQTT platforms.
• Strong understanding of MQTT and industrial IoT architectures.
• Proven experience building automated deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell/Bash, and Python.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control and release management.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, networking, TLS, secrets management, and secure service communications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Industrial IoT, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or OT environments.
• Knowledge of OPC UA and industrial connectivity protocols.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience operating highly available MQTT clusters.
• Familiarity with Helm, edge computing, IT/OT network segmentation, and disaster recovery practices.
• Experience integrating security scanning and governance controls into CI/CD pipelines.
