The Opportunity:

As Team Lead, you’ll be the day-to-day operational leader for the medication pathway. You’ll coordinate with the clinical admin team to ensure staff rotas are run for effective capacity utilisation and cover, so that 1:1 sessions are delivered in a timely and appropriate way. You’ll ensure data is recorded accurately and that the team is supported to meet key outcomes such as patient safety, weight loss, retention and patient satisfaction. You’ll act as the vital link between medication pathway staff (dietitians) and the Head of Medication Pathways & Dietetics, translating goals into clear actions, championing high standards and fostering a supportive, high-performing team culture. This is a 37.5 hours per week role, working remotely with travel for meetings. You’ll work closely with the Head of Medication Pathways & Dietetics, dietitians, prescribers, clinicians, the MDT team, contract managers and the clinical admin team.

What you’ll do:

  • Line manage a team of dietitians, including performance management, regular 1:1s and day-to-day support
  • Lead the planning and scheduling of 1:1 sessions and team rotas with the clinical admin team, ensuring timely delivery and efficient use of capacity
  • Monitor team performance against key KPIs (efficiency, patient safety, weight loss, retention) and escalate underperformance to the Medication Pathway Manager
  • Escalate safeguarding concerns, delivery risks and quality issues, and support investigations into incidents, delivery issues and client complaints
  • Ensure records are complete, accurate and timely, and drive service improvement using feedback from staff and clients
  • Onboard and induct new medication pathway staff, and support dietetic supervision, clinical observation and training
  • Manage your own caseload of complex clients and support QI projects, service evaluation and CQC-related governance

Who you are

  • A registered dietitian (HCPC) with experience of delivering 1:1 clinical support, ideally in weight management or medication-supported pathways
  • Experience of line managing or leading clinical teams, including performance management and developing staff
  • Confident planning rotas and appointments and making the most of team capacity
  • Comfortable using KPIs and data to monitor performance, with a keen eye for accuracy and complete records
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, incident reporting and clinical governance, including CQC requirements
  • An excellent communicator who can build strong working relationships with dietitians, prescribers, clinicians and admin teams
  • Motivated to drive service improvement and champion high standards in a supportive, high-performing team culture
  • Happy to work remotely and to travel for meetings as needed
