Position Overview

The successful Digital Associate will support MPG's digital commerce initiatives on Walmart.com, with a primary focus on product detail page (PDP) optimization, digital shelf execution, reporting, and client coordination. Working under the guidance of Digital Managers and senior team leadership, this individual will help ensure accurate product content, monitor digital shelf performance, and support the execution of client strategies.

This role offers an opportunity to develop expertise in Walmart's digital commerce ecosystem, including digital shelf analytics, retail media collaboration, and emerging AI-driven search capabilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, collaborative, and eager to learn while contributing to the successful execution of client initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support and Communication

  • Support the digital team with client requests, scheduling, and follow-ups.
  • Take notes and track action items in client and internal meetings.
  • Prepare materials and recaps for review by their manager.
  • Keep trackers, calendars, and shared files current.
  • Help track joint business plan milestones and forecast inputs for assigned clients.
  • More advanced Digital Associates will begin to manage client meetings directly under the guidance of their manager as they train to take on a broader responsibility and may be assigned smaller clients.

Digital Shelf Execution

  • Perform digital shelf checks on content, stock availability, pricing, Buy Box, and item status.
  • Prepare and update item content, titles, descriptions, and attributes under guidance.
  • Support new item setup and catalog issue tickets with service providers.
  • Log issues and report them to the sales, digital, and client teams.
  • Support Sparky and AI search optimization by checking and updating item content and attributes under guidance.
  • Check Content Quality Score, Listing Quality, and SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization) signals and support content A/B tests and syndication under guidance.
  • Report marketplace (3P) and brand protection issues, such as unauthorized sellers or pricing issues, to the team.
  • Learn how omnichannel factors, such as stores, pickup and delivery, and Sam's Club, affect client items.
  • Complete PDP content updates under guidance and track results.

Partnership with MPG Retail Media (Walmart Connect & Sam's Connect)

  • Support handoffs with MPG's retail media team, which manages Walmart Connect and Sam's Connect, such as content, item, and stock updates.
  • Report stock, Buy Box, and item status issues that could affect media performance to the client team.
  • Learn how Walmart Connect, Sam's Connect, and Marty relate to PDP and digital shelf performance, and support content updates based on shopper intent.

Reporting & Data

  • Pull data from Walmart.com, Retail Link, and digital shelf tools.
  • Build routine weekly and monthly reports using approved templates.
  • Check data for errors and raise questions early.
  • Format spreadsheets and slides to MPG standards.
  • Track budgets against plan and prepare inputs for forecasts.
  • Pull Walmart Scintilla Charter data, including the Digital Landscapes, Insights Activation, and Shopper Behavior modules, under guidance and help summarize what the data shows.

Team Collaboration & Learning

  • Coordinate with media, creative, analytics, and operations teammates on assigned tasks.
  • Ask questions, accept feedback, and apply it to future work.
  • Learn Walmart.com tools, standards, and processes through training and on-the-job experience.
  • Work with teammates across MPG's Walmart verticals and functions, and with other teams in the organization, and ask for help early.
  • Use approved AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis support, and verify outputs before sharing.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Digital Commerce, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 1–2+ years of experience, including internships, in eCommerce, digital marketing, retail media, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of eCommerce, digital shelf concepts, or paid search.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present information.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Interest in emerging AI-powered search technologies, including Walmart Sparky.
  • Comfort using AI tools responsibly for research, drafting, and analytical support.
  • Willingness to develop expertise in Walmart Scintilla Charter and its reporting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Walmart.com, Retail Link, or digital shelf management platforms.
  • Previous experience within a CPG, agency, broker, or omnichannel commerce environment.
  • Exposure to digital commerce or retail media tools such as Google Looker Studio, Skai, or Pacvue.
  • Experience with content syndication platforms such as Salsify or Syndigo.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Stackline, CommerceIQ, or Nielsen.
  • Relevant coursework, training, or certifications in digital marketing, eCommerce, or analytics.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other compensation programs.
