Position Overview

The successful Senior Digital Associate will support MPG's digital commerce initiatives on Walmart.com, with a focus on product detail page (PDP) optimization, digital shelf performance, content management, and item readiness. This role is responsible for independently managing assigned workstreams, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the execution of client digital commerce strategies with limited oversight.

Working closely with Digital Managers, client teams, and MPG's retail media practice, this individual will leverage data, digital shelf insights, and Walmart platform expertise to improve product visibility, content quality, and overall digital performance.

The Senior Digital Associate will also contribute to client discussions, collaborate across business functions, and support the development of junior team members. This position offers an opportunity to expand strategic and client management capabilities while progressing toward a Digital Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Communication

  • Support clients and manager with day-to-day client needs, requests, and follow-ups across assigned clients.
  • Prepare agendas, notes, action items, and recaps for client status meetings.
  • Present updates on defined workstreams in client and internal meetings.
  • Flag risks, delays, and opportunities to the sales lead early.
  • Help track joint business plan milestones and forecast inputs for assigned clients.

Digital Shelf Management

  • Run digital shelf audits covering content, SEO, stock availability, pricing, Buy Box, item suppression, and ratings and reviews.
  • Identify issues and recommend fixes for titles, descriptions, attributes, and imagery.
  • Coordinate new item setup, content syndication, and catalog issue resolution with service providers.
  • Monitor Walmart.com standards and updates that affect assigned items.
  • Apply Sparky and AI search optimization practices to item content and attributes, and check how assigned items appear in AI shopping experiences.
  • Check Content Quality Score, Listing Quality, and SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization) performance, run content A/B tests, and use syndication platforms such as Salsify or Syndigo.
  • Flag marketplace (3P) and brand protection issues, such as unauthorized sellers or pricing problems, to the sales lead and client.
  • Pay attention to omnichannel factors, such as stores, pickup and delivery, and Sam's Club, where relevant.
  • Complete PDP optimization tasks, such as titles, descriptions, attributes, and imagery updates, and track results.

Partnership with MPG Retail Media (Walmart Connect & Sam's Connect)

  • Coordinate with MPG's retail media team, which manages Walmart Connect and Sam's Connect, on content, item readiness, and stock updates that affect media performance.
  • Flag stock, Buy Box, pricing, and item suppression issues to the retail media team early.
  • Use search term and keyword performance shared by the retail media team to suggest content and attribute updates.
  • Learn how Walmart Connect, Sam's Connect, and Marty affect PDP performance, and support content ideas based on shopper intent and how shoppers prompt Sparky.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Gather and analyze data from Walmart.com, Retail Link, digital shelf tools, and Walmart Scintilla.
  • Check data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with analytics partners.
  • Present findings in clear Excel and PowerPoint formats.
  • Track budgets against plan and prepare inputs for forecasts.
  • Pull and analyze Walmart Scintilla Charter data, including the Digital Landscapes, Insights Activation, and Shopper Behavior modules, and summarize findings and implications for the sales lead and client.

Team Collaboration & Growth

  • Coordinate with media, creative, analytics, and operations teams to complete assigned work on time.
  • Support and train Associates by sharing process knowledge and reviewing basic work.
  • Suggest process improvements and keep trackers and shared files organized.
  • Collaborate with teammates across MPG's Walmart verticals and functions, and with other teams in the organization, to share what you learn and complete work together.
  • Use approved AI tools to speed up research, content drafting, analysis, and reporting, and verify outputs before sharing.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Digital Commerce, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 2–3+ years of experience in CPG eCommerce, digital commerce, retail media, shopper marketing, retail agency, or a related environment
  • Working knowledge of Walmart.com, including digital shelf concepts, Item 360, Retail Link, or related platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate actionable findings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience preparing reports, presentations, and analytical summaries.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Awareness of AI-driven search technologies, including Walmart Sparky, and an interest in understanding their impact on digital commerce.
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools responsibly to support research, content development, and analytical activities.
  • Experience with, or the ability to quickly develop proficiency in, Walmart Scintilla Charter and its Digital Landscapes, Insights Activation, and Shopper Behavior modules.

Preferred

  • Previous experience within a CPG broker, agency, eCommerce consultancy, or omnichannel commerce environment.
  • Exposure to digital shelf analytics platforms such as Profitero or Edge by Ascential.
  • Familiarity with retail media platforms such as Skai or Pacvue.
  • Experience working with Walmart Scintilla, Google Looker Studio, or similar reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple client accounts or digital commerce workstreams.
  • Familiarity with content syndication platforms such as Salsify or Syndigo.
  • Exposure to analytics and market intelligence platforms such as Stackline, CommerceIQ, Nielsen, or Circana (IRI).

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other compensation programs.
