The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is looking for a digital communications specialist who combines strong hands-on video and visual content production skills with social media strategy and audience development.
Role Description The Digital Content Consultant is a full-time role responsible for planning, producing, and managing digital content that supports ADBI’s mission and research outputs. This hybrid role is based in Tokyo, Japan.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the production of video, graphics, and other multimedia content for ADBI’s digital channels, including concept development, filming, editing, post-production, and distribution.
- Develop and manage ADBI’s social media channels to increase reach, engagement, and awareness among priority audiences, including policymakers, researchers, development practitioners, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement social media content plans and campaigns aligned with ADBI’s communications and institutional priorities.
- Monitor social media and digital content performance using relevant analytics tools; track audience growth, engagement, reach, and other indicators; and provide insights and recommendations to improve performance and impact.
- Contribute to ADBI’s broader digital content strategy.
- Support wider communications and outreach team’s work in publications, branding, and events when and as required.
- Manage the digital content and social media budget, including payments, procurement-related activities, and annual budget planning.
Qualifications
- Citizenship of one of ADB's member countries
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in digital communications, social media, content production, multimedia, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- University degree.
- English fluency with demonstrated ability to write and produce clear, engaging, and accurate content for target audiences.
- Strong hands-on video production and editing skills, including the ability to develop concepts, shoot and edit video, produce content optimized for social media and digital platforms.
- Strong graphic design and visual communication skills, with the ability to create engaging graphics, infographics, and other digital assets.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communications skills.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, emerging digital trends, audience behavior, and platform-specific content and engagement practices.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly relevant applications such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign, or other video, design, and content-production software.
- Experience guiding and implementing successful digital campaigns and projects.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and willingness to experiment with new digital formats and approaches.
