Are you an experienced Enterprise Architect who can connect business strategy with practical technology direction?

APM Group is seeking a Digital Enterprise Architect, Business Applications to shape our enterprise business application strategy, target-state architecture and transformation roadmaps.

As part of our Digital Transformation and Architecture team, you will work closely with business and technology leaders to translate strategic priorities, operating models and customer and employee needs into clear application and technology direction. This is an influential enterprise-wide role. You will guide application investment decisions, platform rationalisation, solution design and architecture governance, while helping APM build a simpler, more connected and sustainable business application landscape. Cloud and AI will form part of your architectural toolkit, applied where they deliver clear and responsible business value.

What you’ll do

• Define and maintain business capability models, architecture principles, current-state and target-state architectures, and pragmatic transition roadmaps.
• Translate business strategy, operating model priorities and user needs into clear business application and technology direction.
• Shape target-state architectures and roadmaps for core platforms, digital applications, corporate systems and shared business capabilities.
• Assess APM’s application portfolio for functional fit, duplication, technical debt, lifecycle risk, cost, user experience and strategic alignment.
  Guide application rationalisation, consolidation, modernisation, replacement and retirement decisions.
• Provide architecture leadership from early concept and options analysis through procurement, delivery and transition into operations.
• Ensure solution designs appropriately address security, privacy, accessibility, resilience, performance, interoperability and supportability.
• Promote API-first, event-enabled, modular and reusable approaches that improve integration, adaptability and speed of change.
• Partner with data, integration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud and AI specialists to shape coherent end-to-end solutions.
• Lead and contribute to architecture governance forums, design authorities and exception processes.
  Mentor architects and strengthen business application architecture practices through coaching, reusable patterns and communities of practice.

What we’re looking for

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 10 years’ technology architecture experience, including significant experience at senior enterprise architecture level.
• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise strategies, business capability models, target-state architectures.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise business applications, application portfolio management, platform rationalisation and contemporary solution patterns.
• Experience shaping major enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, case management, digital experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, identity, security, resilience, observability and modern application delivery.
• A practical understanding of generative AI and AI-enabled application capabilities, including privacy, security and data protection.
• Proven experience establishing architecture principles, governance, design assurance and technology investment recommendations.
• Strong executive-level communication, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex architectural choices in clear business language.
• Demonstrated leadership through influence, mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.
