Digital IC Design Engineer

To support the development of our next-generation SoCs in positioning applications, u-blox is looking for talented digital design engineers with experience and interest in ASIC design and verification.

To work in the u-blox IC team you need to be committed, curious, creative, innovative, enthusiastic about new technologies, striving for excellence and willing to work in a multicultural and multi-site context.

You will be working in an international team focusing on SoC design, verification and validation. Depending on your experience and interests, you will contribute to different aspects of the digital IC development flow, from architecture and RTL design through verification, implementation and validation.

The role is located in Athens, Greece or in Leuven, Belgium.

Your Responsibilities:

• Specify, design and verify IP blocks, subsystems and SoC-level solutions
• Gradually develop a deep understanding of the GNSS application and chipset platforms
• Design digital signal processing hardware for GNSS platforms while working in close cooperation with the software team
• Develop, run, debug and maintain dedicated firmware-based tests for our GNSS platforms to validate and verify functionality and track/measure KPIs such as power and MIPS
• Interact with verification, design, software and system teams located across Europe

Your Skills and Experience:

• PhD, MS or BS in electrical, electronic, computer engineering or a related field
• Relevant industrial experience in digital IC, ASIC or FPGA design and/or verification. The position is open to different experience levels
• Experience with RTL design using Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL
• Experience or a strong interest in ASIC design and verification, from RTL through implementation
• Hands-on experience in debugging and problem investigation using simulation
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered an advantage: ASIC implementation and digital design flows
• Digital signal processing and fixed-point implementation
• SystemVerilog/UVM verification and functional coverage
• Firmware/software interaction with digital hardware
• Silicon bring-up and debugging

Soft Skills:

• Rigorous, autonomous, self-motivated, proactive and well organized
• Objective-driven and team-oriented mindset
• Good oral and written communication skills in English

Requirements:

• EU/Schengen-zone citizen, or holder of a work permit.
