Unleash your superpower and bring energy to life.
National Grid is hiring a Digital and Insights Analyst in our Network Operations and Intelligence team based in our head office in Warwick.
About the role
As a Digital & Insights Analyst, you’ll turn data into meaningful insights that help shape planning and performance across National Grid. Working with teams across the business, you’ll deliver impactful reporting, track key performance metrics, identify trends, and highlight risks and opportunities that support better decision-making.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll provide insight and assurance to senior stakeholders, influence business performance and contribute to regulatory reporting for OFGEM and DESNZ. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems with data, working with a variety of stakeholders, and making a real impact on a business at the heart of the UK’s energy future.
What you'll do
- Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting that provide clear performance insights and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyse key KPIs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support effective planning decisions
- Act as a trusted custodian of planning data, ensuring accuracy, integrity and high data quality across systems and tools
- Use Power BI and operational data to provide actionable insights that support business decision-making and performance improvement
- Partner with planners and managers to identify delivery risks, support re-planning activities and ensure plans remain on track
- Carry out plan validation and deliverability assessments, identifying opportunities to improve outcomes and efficiency
- Support maintenance, compliance and critical work programmes through robust planning analysis and performance tracking
- Drive innovation through automation, digital tools and AI-enabled solutions to improve reporting, processes, and operational efficiency.
What you'll need
- Strong data analysis skills with confidence using Power BI and Excel to turn information into clear, actionable insights.
- An interest in digital innovation with experience in Python, SQL, Alteryx coding or process automation being a real advantage.
- A natural problem-solver who enjoys spotting trends, understanding performance, and using data to influence decisions.
- Able to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and focusing on what will deliver the greatest value and impact.
- Awareness of regulatory, asset, or utility environments, with an understanding of how performance, risk, and compliance influence business outcomes.
- A curiosity about how the electricity transmission network operates and a desire to learn about the systems, assets, and infrastructure that keep it running.
What you'll get
Competitive salary between £49,000 - £55,000 per annum dependant on experience
- Annual Performance Based Bonus.
- 26 days annual leave plus eight statutory days.
- The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
- Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
- Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave – so long as it’s relevant to your role.
- Access to several flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
- Family care benefits including a back-up care service for when your usual care arrangements fall through (six paid days each year as standard with the option to purchase further days).
- Access to numerous apps which support health, fitness and wellbeing.
