Director of Airport Operations

Role Description The Director of Airport Operations is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing and coordinating airport-related operational activities within SAE MANIT’s projects and initiatives. This role involves planning and managing operational workflows for airport simulations or logistics components of automotive and mobility projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with relevant standards. The Director will collaborate with student teams and faculty advisors to align operational strategies with project objectives, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements. Day-to-day tasks include supervising operations planning, managing stakeholder communication, reviewing budgets and resource allocations, and addressing operational issues in a timely and customer-focused manner. The role also requires preparing reports, guiding team members on best practices, and supporting event or competition logistics that involve airport or transportation operations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Operations Management and experience coordinating complex or multi-stakeholder workflows.
• Strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, assess performance, and optimize procedures for safety and efficiency.
• Proven Team Management capabilities, including mentoring, delegation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Competence in Budgeting and resource planning to support projects and events within defined financial constraints.
• Commitment to high-quality Customer Service, with a focus on responsive communication and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Relevant experience in airport, transportation, logistics, or mobility operations is highly beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time capacity.
• Background in engineering, transportation management, aviation, or a related field is preferred, with prior leadership experience in student organizations or projects considered an advantage.
