Show job description

Sambla Group is a fintech company with a clear goal – to be your trusted financial partner. We’ve grown into one of the fastest-growing fintech companies, bridging the gap between borrowers and lenders, thanks to the 500+ amazing people who work here. In the summer of 2026, we were granted authorisation as a credit market company, marking an important milestone in our continued journey to expand into own lending and opening an exciting new chapter for Sambla Group.

About the role

As Director of Analytics, you lead analytics within the Commercial organisation and play a central role in turning data into better decisions. Your work sits close to the business and focuses on the areas that drive growth: pricing, conversion, customer acquisition, revenue development and commercial performance.

This is not a reporting role. You are expected to shape the commercial agenda together with senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that the business can act on. You own the KPIs, forecasting and reporting that the Commercial organisation runs on, and you make sure there is one trusted version of the truth.

You also lead and develop a team of analysts, setting clear priorities and building a culture of curiosity, ownership and impact. Beyond your direct team, you act as the connecting force for analysts across the company through dotted-line relationships, making sure we work as one analytics community rather than in silos.

A key part of the role is raising the analytical standard across Sambla Group. You establish shared definitions, methods, tooling and ways of working, and you partner closely with Data Engineering, Data Science and Tech to make sure the Commercial organisation has reliable, governed and highly available data to work from.

The role is based at our headquarters at Tulegatan 4 in Stockholm, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead commercial analytics: turning data into decisions across pricing, conversion, customer acquisition and revenue growth.

  • Manage and develop the team: setting priorities, coaching direct reports and building a culture focused on curiosity, ownership and measurable impact.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial leadership: shaping strategy, challenging assumptions and helping the business make better decisions.

  • Own KPIs, forecasting and reporting: making sure the business has clear definitions, reliable reporting and one trusted version of the truth.

  • Identify revenue opportunities: finding, quantifying and prioritising new growth opportunities and translating analysis into clear recommendations.

  • Build the analytics community: connecting analysts across the company through dotted-line relationships and creating alignment across Marketing, Finance, Product and Commercial.

  • Set company-wide analytics standards: establishing shared definitions, methods, best practices, tooling and quality standards for insight.

  • Bridge Commercial and Data Platform: partnering closely with Data Engineering, Data Science and Tech to define data architecture requirements and improve data reliability, governance and availability.

  • Manage the analytics budget: making strategic decisions around team scaling, external vendors and BI or analytics tooling.

  • Establish an Analytics Center of Excellence: creating the structure, forums and shared repositories needed to standardise methodologies and raise the analytical bar across the company.

Where the role goes from there

This is a role for someone who wants to build a high-impact analytics function close to the commercial core of the business. As Sambla Group continues to grow and expand, the role will become increasingly important in shaping how we use data to steer the company, identify growth opportunities and make better strategic decisions. Over time, the role has the potential to broaden further across markets, business lines and company-wide analytical governance, with a strong mandate to influence how analytics is used at Sambla Group.

Who you are

You are commercially sharp, analytical and structured, with the ability to move between detail and strategy. You understand how data connects to revenue, unit economics and business performance, and you are comfortable discussing commercial priorities with senior stakeholders. You are not satisfied with simply explaining what happened. You want to understand why it happened, what it means and what the business should do next. You are confident challenging assumptions, but you do it in a clear, constructive and pragmatic way.

As a leader, you set direction, create clarity and help people grow. You know how to build strong analytical standards without creating unnecessary complexity, and you enjoy bringing people together across functions. You are comfortable in an environment that is still evolving, where processes, definitions and ways of working are being built as we go, and you want to help shape them.

What you bring

  • A proven track record of leading analytics in a commercial setting, with measurable impact on revenue, growth or business performance.

  • Experience managing and developing analysts, including setting direction, prioritising work and building high-performing teams.

  • Strong business acumen and confidence discussing P&L, unit economics, growth levers and commercial strategy with senior stakeholders.

  • Experience influencing without formal authority and creating alignment across functions, teams and stakeholders.

  • A passion for raising the bar, with experience establishing analytics standards, best practices, shared definitions and ways of working.

  • Deep technical literacy in SQL, modern data stacks such as dbt and BigQuery, and statistical methods, enabling you to audit team output, guide architecture decisions and step in hands-on when needed.

  • Experience owning or shaping KPIs, forecasting, reporting and business performance frameworks.

  • A talent for storytelling with data, making complex analysis simple, persuasive and actionable for non-technical audiences.

  • Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

  • Experience from fintech, financial services, marketplaces, consumer lending or another high-volume digital business.

  • Experience working closely with Data Engineering, Data Science or Tech teams on data architecture, governance and platform requirements.

  • Experience managing analytics budgets, external vendors or BI and analytics software procurement.

  • Experience establishing an Analytics Center of Excellence or similar cross-functional analytics community.

  • Experience working across multiple markets, brands or business lines.

  • Experience with pricing, conversion optimisation, customer acquisition, marketing analytics or revenue management.

We might be a little different from most companies. Instead of defining personal values, we’ve built a shared way of working - a rhythm that guides how we collaborate, support our customers, and move forward together. We call it Drive & Jive - a shared rhythm that creates momentum through direction, collaboration, and human connection.

As part of our recruitment process, we always carry out a background check before extending a job offer.
