Director of Business Development

About Assured Clinical Research

We're looking for a commercial hunter who can tell our story and turn it into signed studies in both the US and the UK.

Role: Director of Business Development

Reports to: CEO

Location: Remote; US-based with strong UK candidates considered

Travel: Regular, including transatlantic travel for conferences, sponsor meetings and site visits

Compensation: Competitive base salary + uncapped commission

Build the commercial engine of a transatlantic site network, alongside a founder who has done it before.

Most site networks compete for the same patients in the same research centers. Assured takes a different approach. We embed clinical research inside established medical practices in the US and in NHS GP practices in the UK, which gives sponsors access to community patients that traditional sites rarely reach. Our Swaffham practice is CQC-registered, with a growing network across East Anglia.

Our founder, Dr. Samir Arora, built Aventiv Research from a single site into a 120-person, three-state organization. As Chief Growth Officer of Centricity Research, he then led an 11-person BD team that won about $100M of new business in 2024. He is building Assured to go further, and this is the role that decides how fast.

The opportunity

The infrastructure is in place: SOPs, quality systems, trained coordinators, committed investigators, a UK leadership team, and a US flagship partner site with a long track record. What we need now is a hunter who fills that network with studies. You'll have real ownership, report directly to the CEO, and have a genuine say in how we go to market in both countries.

The role

This is a hunter role with real ownership. You'll build ACR's study pipeline from the ground up across two markets: our US strategic partner sites and our UK GP-embedded network. You'll tell the ACR story to sponsors and CROs, turn interest into feasibility requests, and turn feasibility requests into awarded studies. You'll work directly with our CEO, Chief of Staff, UK Managing Director, operations leaders and Principal Investigators, and have genuine influence over how we go to market.

What success looks like

  • 90 days: You know our sites and investigators cold, you've rebuilt our capability materials, you have a qualified pipeline and a fast feasibility process, and your first submissions are in.
  • 6 months: Target sponsors and CROs send us feasibility requests regularly, and the first studies have been awarded through your pipeline.
  • 12 months: We have a predictable US and UK pipeline, repeat sponsor relationships, and awards that meet our growth targets.

What you'll do

  • Hunt. Open doors with sponsors and CROs whose portfolios fit our focus on respiratory, cardiometabolic, vaccines, dermatology, CNS and healthy volunteers. Use cold outreach, referrals, LinkedIn and conferences.
  • Sell two markets. Position our US partner sites and our UK GP-embedded network with global CROs and sponsors (including biopharma and biotech).
  • Own feasibility. Take every response from request to submission, with enrollment estimates built from real patient data that we can actually deliver.
  • Tell the story. Create and own our capability materials and site profiles, using SCRS, SCOPE, DIA, and TA-specific conferences to pre-book meetings and study opportunities.
  • Run it like a business. Keep a clean CRM, forecast honestly, and report pipeline and conversion monthly.

You are

  • A proven closer of new studies for a site, a site network or an SMO. Come ready to tell us how many, with whom, and how you won them.
  • A hunter who's comfortable building from zero, without a large team or steady inbound leads.
  • Someone with active sponsor and CRO relationships you can call on from day one.
  • Experienced in hands-on feasibility, from questionnaires and enrollment modeling with investigators to study budgets.
  • A strong writer and presenter who makes sponsors want to work with you.
  • Willing to travel regularly, including between the US and UK.

Experience selling a network or partnership model, an established conference network, or familiarity with FDA Diversity Action Plans all count in your favor.

Why join

  • Direct access to the CEO and Executive Team and real influence over commercial strategy.
  • A differentiated story that sponsors haven't heard multiple times this week.
  • Base salary plus commission on the studies you win.
  • Remote-first, with the chance to grow as the network grows.
