The Director of Finance at Merkle Science will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring financial stability, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role involves managing the finance team, driving financial planning and analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the technology and blockchain industry. Responsibilities: Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure. Manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory requirements. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and reporting. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process and quarterly forecasting updates. Monitor and analyse budget performance and implement corrective actions as necessary. Provide detailed financial analysis and modelling to support strategic initiatives. Compliance and Strategic Planning: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards. Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure financial governance. Partner with the executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies. Provide financial insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and strategies. Team Leadership and Stakeholder Communication Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for finance staff. Manage relationships with external auditors, investors, and financial institutions. Present financial reports and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and investors. Communicate financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders. 👀 What are we looking for? Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in the technology or blockchain industry is highly desirable. Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset. Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, and financial modeling. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
