Senior Finance Leadership Opportunity | Transformation & Growth
I'm working with a large, well-established and highly ambitious organisation to appoint a Director of Reporting into a newly created senior finance leadership position.
With a significant national footprint, multi-billion-pound revenues and an impressive track record of both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the business has established itself as a market leader.
Operating as part of a much larger Group, the organisation offers the scale, complexity and investment to make this a particularly exciting opportunity. With continued ambitions for growth, there is a real focus on developing the finance function, enhancing reporting capabilities and providing greater commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of both
Financial Reporting and FP&A, leading an established team while driving improvements across reporting, financial controls and commercial insight.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful individual will play a key role in shaping the finance function, working closely with senior leadership and providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making.
The Opportunity
- Financial Reporting: Take ownership of internal and external reporting, including monthly consolidations, statutory accounts and annual IFRS financial statements.
- FP&A Leadership: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and the delivery of meaningful commercial insight to senior stakeholders and the Board.
- Finance Transformation: Review, challenge and improve existing reporting processes, systems and controls, driving efficiency, accuracy and automation.
- Technical Accounting: Provide technical leadership across IFRS, UK GAAP, consolidations and wider financial compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the Finance Director, operational leadership, external auditors and senior finance colleagues across the wider Group.
- People Leadership: Lead, coach and develop an established finance team, building capability and supporting future succession planning.
- Systems & Data: Take ownership of financial reporting systems and identify opportunities to improve the quality and accessibility of financial information.
About You
We're looking for an accomplished finance leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with the commercial awareness and leadership skills to influence at a senior level.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- ACA or equivalent qualification, with significant post-qualified experience.
- A strong background in financial reporting, consolidations and statutory accounts within a large or complex organisation.
- Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams.
- Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and Board-level reporting.
- A proven ability to challenge existing processes and deliver meaningful improvements.
- Strong communication skills, commercial curiosity and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is a newly created role with genuine scope to influence, rather than simply maintain an established reporting function.
You'll have the opportunity to shape reporting processes, develop a talented team and work closely with an experienced Finance Director within a business that continues to evolve and invest.
The wider Group also offers excellent long-term career progression for an ambitious finance leader looking to take the next step.
Location: Milton Keynes / Hybrid working
Package: £120,000–£130,000 base salary + car allowance + bonus + wider benefits.
