VEC is an end-to-end digital delivery company that helps owners, general contractors, and trade contractors manage the complete flow of project information. From digital strategy and design coordination through trade modeling, field verification, and operational handover, VEC connects every phase of delivery through one continuous digital thread.

The Director will lead and develop the existing marketing team, own a national program of 25+ conferences and events each year, and partner closely with Business Development, Presales, Operations, service line leaders, Finance, and HR.

  • Own the annual marketing plan and quarterly priorities, aligned with VEC's growth strategy, target accounts, and delivery capacity.
  • Lead consistent positioning across VEC's service lines, including VDC coordination, civil underground, electrical and mechanical VDC, and onsite QC, in partnership with technical leaders.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear client value, backed by accurate project examples and consistent messaging across the website, presentations, proposals, and campaigns.

Department Leadership & Execution

  • Build and develop the marketing team, including an existing Marketing Manager. Define roles, delegate ownership, coach, and hold people accountable for quality and deadlines.
  • Set up request intake, prioritization, production schedules, review checkpoints, and escalation procedures.
  • Strong experience in staffing, workforce planning, and resource allocation to support business needs and company growth

Brand & Marketing Programs

  • Direct brand standards, website development, content, social media, campaigns, case studies, executive thought leadership, and industry recognition opportunities.
  • Maintain an organized library of approved materials and project evidence, and coordinate technical review and client permissions before publishing sensitive project information.

Conferences & Client Engagement

  • Own the strategy, budget, calendar, and delivery standards for 25+ conferences and events per year, including sponsorships, speaking opportunities, client hospitality, and executive participation.
  • Assign clear ownership for logistics, vendors, materials, attendee coordination, and onsite delivery, with repeatable processes that support national scale.
  • Partner with Business Development on target attendees, meeting goals, and follow-up, and measure event value against cost and objectives.

Business Development & Operational Alignment

  • Deliver timely pursuit materials, account-specific content, presentations, and campaigns with Business Development and Presales.
  • Work with Operations to confirm capabilities, capture results, and keep external promises aligned with actual delivery.
  • Proven ability to work closely with sales teams, set up effective feedback processes, and measure and report on the business impact of marketing initiatives.

Budget Accountability & Performance

  • Prepare and manage marketing budgets, forecasts, commitments, and vendor performance. Explain variances and recommend where to adjust investment.
  • Report on delivery reliability, team capacity, engagement quality, marketing-supported opportunities, event outcomes, and spending, using attribution rules agreed with Business Development and Finance.

Software & Technical Proficiency

  • Extensive hands-on experience leading large-scale AI implementations, including integrating AI tools such as Claude or Gemini into business operations and workflows.
  • CRM platforms for pipeline and campaign reporting.
  • Website, content, and social media platforms.
