About Cherub
Cherub is a social-first fundraising network connecting founders, investors, and creators. We’re building the infrastructure for a new generation of ownership—helping founders build strategic cap tables and giving creators and emerging investors greater access to private-company investing, advising, and equity opportunities.
We sit at the intersection of startups, venture, culture, and the creator economy. Content is a critical part of how we build that category.
The Role
We are looking for a Director of Marketing to lead product marketing, content marketing, and editorial marketing at Cherub. You will turn product launches into compelling campaigns and build audiences for our original series, podcast, blog, and Substack. You will manage our Social Media Manager and work closely with the editorial team to build an editorial platform around private markets.
What You Will Do
Lead product marketing. Develop clear positioning and messaging for Cherub and its features, translating product benefits into reasons for founders, investors, and creators to join and stay active.
Build product launch campaigns. Own campaign strategy, creative briefs, timelines, and execution across social, email, editorial, and the website, from launch anticipation through adoption and follow-up.
Lead content marketing. Build launch and distribution plans for original series, podcast episodes, and blog content. Turn each release into clips, posts, emails, and other assets that reach new audiences.
Grow Substack. Partner with editorial on newsletter positioning, packaging, promotion, collaborations, and subscriber engagement. Build clear paths from reader to Cherub member.
Build the editorial platform. Partner with editorial on recurring series and a publishing calendar covering private markets, angel investing, and creator ownership. Connect programming with product priorities and audience interests.
Manage Brand Partners. Organize and project manage brand partnerships ensuring campaign success, manage client relationships and key reporting
Partnerships Build out partnerships pipeline with compelling like minded brands designed to grow awareness, build audience and drive traffic to cherub
Creator marketing Work closely with our Director of Creator membership to build meaningful creator campaigns from ideation to execution
Calendar Build a comprehensive year long marketing calendar around our key events, launches and cultural milestones
Manage social. Lead and develop the Social Media Manager, setting channel strategy, priorities, and performance goals while maintaining a consistent, recognizable Cherub voice.
Connect the work. Own the marketing calendar across launches, content, editorial, and events. Coordinate with product, editorial, membership, and creative partners to deliver campaigns on time.
Measure and improve. Track campaign performance, audience and subscriber growth, qualified signups, activation, and membership conversion. Use results and audience feedback to improve messaging, formats, and distribution.
What You Bring
6+ years of marketing experience, with ownership of product launches and content or editorial campaigns.
A track record of growing audiences and translating attention into product adoption, subscriptions, or membership revenue.
Strong writing, positioning, and creative judgment. You can make a complex subject feel clear, interesting, and worth sharing.
Experience marketing original video, podcasts, newsletters, or digital publications, with an understanding of social distribution and Substack.
Experience managing a social media or content team as well as team members and collaborating closely with editorial and product partners.
An organized, hands-on approach to strategy and execution, with curiosity about private markets, entrepreneurship, and the creator economy.
Fluency in building AI-assisted workflows end to end: design it, run it, measure it, and improve it.
What Success Looks Like
Product launches that drive adoption, original content that consistently reaches new audiences, a growing and engaged Substack readership, and a cohesive marketing engine that turns Cherub’s editorial platform into measurable membership growth.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $120,000-$140,000 per year. This role also includes company-covered health insurance and a career development stipend.
