You’ll own Aria InsurTech’s software platform end to end. It’s where agents sign up, buy leads and take our training, so the changes you make affect every agent we work with. You’ll find out what agents need, decide with our leadership team what to build next, lead the developers who build it, and make sure every new feature works and gets used.
Compensation
$125,000 – $180,000 CAD / year, based on experience
Who this is for
You’re curious and you learn new tools quickly, including AI tools
You like talking to customers to find out what they really need
You notice problems in a product before customers complain
You can explain a complicated feature in simple words
You like setting up simple processes so nothing gets lost
You judge your work by how many agents use what you build
Our Core Values
We hire for these values, we manage by them, and we part ways with people who break them.
Relentless Accountability — We take full ownership of our work and results, with no excuses and no blaming others.
Uncompromising Execution — We move fast and do excellent work, and if it isn’t excellent, it isn’t done.
Bulletproof Integrity — We’re honest, and we do the right thing even when it’s hard.
What we offer you
Fully remote. Work from anywhere in the US or Canada.
You’ll run your own department, with support from our leadership team.
You’ll work directly with our CEO and leadership team.
You’ll join a company on the path to major growth.
Your role can grow as the company grows.
We’re building to become the number one platform for life insurance agents in North America
Aria InsurTech was started by life insurance agents, for life insurance agents. We help agents find clients and grow their business. Agents use our platform to buy leads, which are people interested in buying life insurance. They can also join our training programs, which teach them how to turn those leads into sales. Our CEO, Vivian Weyll, sold life insurance herself and built a team of 56 agents. Our training is built on her system. You’ll fit here if you take ownership of your work and want to grow with the company.
Responsibilities
Own the platform end to end, from the first idea to launch and after.
Talk to agents, sales and operations to find what’s missing, confusing or broken.
Turn what you learn into a list of what we build next, in order, agreed with leadership.
Write clear instructions and mockups the developers can build from.
Manage the developers’ day-to-day work: assign tasks, check progress and make sure everything ships on time.
Test every change before it goes live.
Work with marketing and sales on launches of new products and offers, and make sure agents know how to use what’s new.
Keep the platform fast, secure and reliable, and make sure the company always controls its own code, accounts and data.
Track how agents use the platform and report to leadership on what’s working and what isn’t.
The Role — Director of Product
You own the platform and lead the developers who build it. You work with our leadership team on what to build, and you’re responsible for how well it works for agents.
Understand what agents need. Talk to agents, our sales team and our operations team, and look at how agents use the platform, to find what’s confusing, broken or missing.
Decide what to build. Bring those problems and ideas to our leadership team with a rough idea of what each would take. Then agree on what to build now, what can wait and what to drop.
Get it built and launched. Turn each decision into a simple mockup and clear tasks for the developers, keep the work on schedule, and test every change before agents see it. When something new goes live, make sure agents know how to use it.
Keep the platform safe and working. Make sure the platform is fast and secure and that bugs get fixed quickly. Make sure the company always has access to its own code, accounts and data.
Why it matters. When the platform works better for agents, they buy more from us, and the whole company grows.
Requirements
7+ years in product management, with at least 3 years managing a team.
You’ve done this before. You’ve owned a software product from the first idea to launch and kept improving it after.
Technical understanding. You understand how software gets built well enough to plan it with developers, without writing code yourself.
Clear priorities. You can decide what to build first, explain why in plain language and say no to the rest.
Customer focus. You turn customer feedback and usage data into product decisions.
Startup pace. You’ve worked in a fast-moving company and set up structure where there wasn’t any.
Tools. You’re skilled with AI tools and with project management tools like Monday.com.
