Opportunity
With over 3,500 customers and a 4.7 rating in the QuickBooks app store, Method empowers SMBs to supercharge their business processes. We are looking for a Director of Product with deep experience building software for small and medium-sized businesses to join our AI-native team and drive our product evolution.
As a key member of the leadership team, you'll have the influence to shape both the product strategy and the future direction of Method CRM.
If you're someone who seeks the truth before forming an opinion, can move organizations steadily towards a desired future state while dealing with the ambiguity of decisions that need to be made with urgency today, and would rather 10X the productivity of a team with AI than 10X the number of people in the team, we would love to hear from you.
About Method
Method is on a mission to transform how small businesses operate by giving them real control over their customer workflows.
Our flagship product, Method CRM, is purpose-built for small businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and generic tools. With deep QuickBooks and Xero integrations and a powerful no-code customization engine, Method lets users design workflows that truly fit their unique needs.
As a scaling growth company, we're now taking that mission further, using AI to build intelligent agents that help users rapidly build and customize no-code apps. This is the heart of our next chapter, and we're looking for people who want to help small businesses work smarter.
The Role
As the Director of Product, you'll own product at Method, from long-term vision to what ships next. Method already has established AI-native teams and processes, so you won't be building that system from scratch. Your job is to run it well, improve it, and push it further. You'll also take over from the CEO as the person who decides where AI agents can replace human approval steps, and where they can't yet, based on quality and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO, lead a lean product team and own its budget, scaling output through AI agents and automation before adding headcount.
Own the product plan, from the long-term big picture down to what ships next, and hold every Product Manager to the same standard: work is thought through and grounded in customer data before Design and Engineering start building.
Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and definition to launch and continuous improvement, so that nothing ships without a clear link to a validated customer problem.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product positioning and ensure our platform remains a market leader.
Run and improve our established product processes, replacing manual approvals with AI agents that decide and notify the person who used to sign off, while holding our quality bar.
Track and improve the key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure product success, judged by customer outcomes rather than output or appearances.
Align with Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Customer Support before building, not after shipping, so every launch is one the go-to-market team understands and can sell.
Keep the product team's work in the open: plans, roadmaps and decision records that any executive or team member can inspect.
What You Bring
Extensive experience in a senior product leadership role, preferably in a B2B SaaS company.
Proven ability to coach Product Managers to think big picture, connecting every feature to the customer problem, the business outcome and the long-term strategy, while investing in each direct report fairly and transparently.
In-depth knowledge of product development processes, UX/UI design principles and quality assurance best practices.
You speak straight and have no hidden agenda. You manage the expectations of peer executives well and invite their challenges and critiques.
You actively seek opportunities to exert influence beyond product management.
You seek the truth before acting. You ask sharp questions before sharing an opinion.
You quickly grasp both the technical problem and the customer problem from minimal information.
An AI-native operator: you use AI agents every day in your own work and have led a team through the move to AI-first ways of working.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and measure product success.
Customer-obsessed, optimistic and motivated to contribute to our growth. You optimize for the customer experience, not for optics.
